The Chargers, but of course to no end. Also the Cards are bad but certainly haven’t looked like a team that WANTS to lose, and they’re bring Kyler back. So maybe they claw back toward .500
I went into last night's match optimistic, which was objectively silly, I suppose--but I suppose that makes the broader writing off that much more frustrating.
Is Watson playing this week because he’s (1) Actually healthy, (2) can’t take any more “but Njoku played” heat or (3) getting shown up by a Temple football legend was the final straw?
How do you think Brock Purdy will perform with Deebo out and Christian questionable? Will he gets exposed as “meh” or does he have “the juice?” Apologies I can only think of awful metaphors as I haven’t had coffee yet.
I bet CMC plays. He practiced in full yesterday. Brock is a known quantity at this point. He’s good but has obvious physical limitations you can exploit if you can get to him. Minnesota has exactly one good pass rusher, so you can draw your own conclusions about tomorrow from there
Fantasy football question: Lamar or Tua? I’ve had Tua as my bye backup for Lamar and have never had the courage to start him but I think it’s the right call today.
As an aside, it amazes me that the Vikings have been a consistently competitive franchise my entire life, but have never just drafted a QB and had him be their starter for 10+ years.
For the second consecutive week we have a “straight off the couch” situation, this time with Darrell Henderson. How the hell do these guys do it? And what can we possibly expect from Darrell?
He’s played well for the Rams before, so he might do fine. And these guys can do to because even off the street they’re still world class athletes, nuh mean?
I miss return guys like Dante Hall or Devin Hester. I’ll even take a Mel Gray or Eddie Royal. Any chance we get a return man renaissance or has the game changed too much?
It’s a pretty egregious error to return a kickoff from the end zone, especially when you consider the risk of an illegal block that puts you at the 8 not the 25. In fact you should TRY to let a kick inside the 5 bounce into the end zone.
Punt returns are the only chance for anything like Hall or Hester now. Kickoffs either sail through the back of the endzone or are popups that get the coverage team down too quickly (from the 35) to evade
I get why kick returns are no more, but good return guys just made the league more fun. Coaches would talk about trying to get them involved in the offense and needing to “get them in space” and it almost never worked. Just fun stuff overall.
Feels like there are more bad coaches this season and more of those said coaches under pressure to win. Over/Under on the number of coaches fired at the end of the season?
If the Bears lose today can we finally start talking about Eberflus getting canned midseason? The Bears are weird about that but even they have to face reality.
I’d be surprised if it happened midseason, since he just got here. Plus they already fired Alan Williams. You do need coaches around, no matter how much they suck, to operate the team.
Because of their coaching. Also you never really know if Josh Allen is playing at full strength or if he’s got some shitty injury they don’t bother listing
It’s more fun to believe than not. Don’t get trapped stewing in loser shit. Enjoy the ride and if it ends early so be it. Nothing you haven’t endured before.
I remember the Patriots 1985 run, when Grogan came in and every game, including playoffs, was one-game-at-a-time mentality. Best year as a fan. Better than most of the Brady years.
When facing the Bears, doom set in. Difficult two weeks pior with horrible SB viewing experience.
He’s playing a lousy team so it’ll probably be like last week where he has a few nice moments and the booth gets excited but then he and the rest of the team fall apart
Not really a question but an observation, I think it's wild that kickers are so good that coaches will settle for 50 yard FG attempts instead of trying to keep pushing the ball downfield

Enjoy it.
I’m not going to complain about being a Pirates fan anymore. You have my condolences.
The other stat I can never get over is Tom Brady had twice as many 10-win seasons in his career as the Lions have had EVER
