Because I will always repeat this when we see measles circulating again: if you were born 1957-1972 and did attend college or 1957-1987 and didn't attend college, you should get your MMR immunity tested with a simple lab test or one adult dose of MMR booster if your insurance won't cover labwork.

(Puzzled by people saying no MMR available before 1971 because I know I had it. Also the R didn't take or wore off by 1978 & I spent my 1st pregnancy terrified)
(And I’m gonna get my measles vax updated next.)
Explanation: for reasons relating to small town Canada in the 1970s I didn’t get MMR because they were worried I would somehow infect my mother through a skin rash on her hands.
The usual in childhood. Then a family friend got mumps when I was about 10 so I had it again.
Then I topped up a few years ago during the measles outbreak in New York.
I the side effects were very mild.
(as mentioned before, I *did* get them all later for travel-based reasons)
aside: that booster hurt like hell, but it was so worth it.
It sucked horribly and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Never vomited (iron jaw), but everything else is spot on.
My spouse caught it when his booster wore off and it was fucking terrifying
But now this is happening 😬

Doc, I get it, but I’m not bringing measles home on an emergency visit.
Got my TDaP on Monday! In retrospect, that's probably why I felt like I got run over by the fatigue semi Monday night, lol.
One of his brothers is deaf in one ear from measles. He's a musician.
(I don’t know if titer checks is a thing in UK.)
(I know you shared John Walton’s posts too.)
Yeah, you know, goal posts
