It must really suck to be an incredible athlete and be good enough to play in college but not quite good enough to go pro and have your entire athletic journey culminate in the Chuck E Cheese Rockamouse Bowl presented by Thrivant Financial

This company I'm at there are a couple new hires every week on the Zoom meeting, introduce yourself, what was your previous job etc. A guy this week said well, I just spent two years in the NFL. Running back.
Just another one we don't think about that much, you do get to pro, then -- that's it.
In college I was a hired s a Home Depot before it opened. The 1st manager was a former lineman with the Colts, absolute mountain of a man. I was an unhealthy Madden addict for over a decade & had never heard of him. He was a complete moron, just unfathomably stupid & was fired in a matter of months
ESPN Reporter to a 22 year old who has lumbar degeneration and reconstructed ACL: so what was it like to sing Every Day is a Birthday with the REAL Jasper T. Jowls???
22 year old who has lumbar degeneration and reconstructed ACL: I have a concussion
My brother blew his shoulder out in the first play of his last football game in a completely meaningless bowl game against Toledo 20 something years ago. We had to spend a week in Detroit in December and his arm still pops out of socket a half dozen times a year. 2/10, would not recommend

He'll survive.
He played in 33 tournaments in 2024, of which 14 were in his native France.
He'll open your eyes to how poorly paid pro tennis players outside the top 200 actually are.
Your example is right on the borderline. His expenses likely exceeded 60k and he also paid taxes on that amount you listed.
Then not be drafted because you're worn out and injured
But you got that basket weaving degree to fall back on.
