You know what rules? Having something on your schedule that you don’t want to do, that is stressing you out, and just going “I’d rather not” and not doing it. I’m embracing the “I’d rather not” lifestyle.

Also, Moby Dick is mostly the hilarious story of a listless guy deciding to get into whaling for adventure but finding everyone on board is nuts, there is less bunk-sharing than he expected, and it is so boring that he starts coming up with dumb plays and listing whale facts to amuse himself.
Hahaha, a fellow humanities grad student LOVED Bartleby and the story became some sort of Marxist literary metaphor in a bunch of theory I read, possibly even Hardt & Negri's "Empire" which was The Thing to Read in W-era grad programs.
