I don’t know if this exists as a subreddit or something but there should be a culturally accepted place where everyone can talk about doing a really great job parking in difficult circumstances

truth: so far, three times in my life i have hopped out of my car while in traffic - waiting for someone in front of me to parallel park - and parked it for them.
I’m just imagining 300 people all stressing the importance of parking near the shopping cart return even if it seems like it would take more time walking in.
my major thing about parking lots is to not even attempt to find the very close spot. you end up circling the lot only to maybe save yourself 30 seconds of walking.
“Do you want overflow carts running into your car and wrecking your paint job? Because that’s how you get overflow carts running into your car and wrecking your paint job.”—my dad
Can I toot my horn about the time I drove a rental car in reverse for a good quarter mile down a narrow medieval street in Siena, Italy because GPS didn’t tell me there was a barrier at the end of the street where there should have been an intersection?
I did exactly the same thing in Puglia down an extremely narrow lane with buildings on my left and a rough limestone wall on my right. It was my fault because I turned just a little too early - was afraid I'd be boxed in with nowhere to turn around so I reversed, eyes on every sharp rock all the way
Yeah. The difficult circumstances for me now are that I’ve been driving for 28 years and I’ve basically lost the ability to reverse park or park straight in general.
When I was doing diss research at Emory, I couldn't afford the $5 parking fee so had to find one of the few street spots near campus.
Once I wedged my Civic into an impossibly small spot with like 20 turns and as I got out a guy sitting in traffic rolled down his window to congratulate me.
I'm so good at parallel parking I have had passersby compliment me on it. This has happened like three times. No one cares though, and that's unfair and uncool.
It's because the Ohio driving test has a backing up part to it that's really hard. No one in the PNW had to do that when they got their license so I'm like a superbeing to them. I could keep talking about this if anyone wants.
Two weekends ago, I sat behind a Tesla that spent a good 2 or 3 minutes failing to parallel park. When they gave up, I zoomed into the spot and did the best parallel parking job of my life in like 5 seconds, leaving ample time to flip them off. Still riding the high.

I mean I hit both curbs 19 times and never got closer that 2 feet from the curb, but still. I was almost in the lines!
*500 pictures of parked cars with descriptions like "parked car"*
well, that and sell my body for parts.
