Feels like they are trying to shut things down so people can't download the information just like an employee is going to go work at a competitor, except that the data belongs to the American public.
One of Hitler’s first moves was burning trans & LGBTQ books. Trump is essentially doing the same by scrubbing their info from govt websites. Between this and immigration camps at GITMO, this week has been terrifying.
The problem we are actually facing is that people have no idea what the government does. They think that it’s all a bunch of paper pushing for no real purpose. It’s going to get very ugly.
Legal isn’t a thing anymore, friend. Slavery was legal. The holocaust was legal. We’re past courts, I think. People got too comfy thinking they’d be saved by decorum
Slavery was legal til it wasn't. The holocaust was wrong and the Germans knew that and that's why the Germans tried to conceal it. Yes, post ww2 complacency has lulled the west. But there is still right and wrong and it is still the business of the courts to uphold the law. We should demand no less.
If the court system had done the honorable job the guy wouldn’t have been able to run for President in the first place - we don’t even let felons vote. People who throw coups are traitors. Common sense didn’t win those simple challenges because of the courts, ya know. 🤷♀️
I think…maybe you’ve simply missed my point. Right and wrong usurp the law. Thinking a court is going to always save the day isn’t quite the right take. There’s a point where that scale flips. I’m all for clogging him up in the system but the system has already shown it will look the other way.
Yeah, I had a teacher in high school who said the same thing. Said to ‘get some hope’! So I did. I really have. Then half the country elected a villain and forgot what love for others is. Cynicism can spark action. Sometimes a little is just seeing things for what they are.
50.1% of all people who voted is not the same thing as 50.1% of the voting population. He got about 37% of the total voting population. But yes, the 3rd party, felon, and non-voters apparently were all good with Project 2025.
I have no idea how civil wars actually begin, but with all the horrible things that are being done (or attempted), it makes one wonder if we could or would get to that point.
I work on a few of these - nothing going dark yet. There was a memo to take down content related to DEI. Many of the sites going dark may be because the data cannot be separated from its DEI-ness (Social Determinants of Health, for example, is on almost every public health site) but this is very bad

Geez 🙄
And you can report the fraud waste or abuse of taxpayer resources. These folks are independent and do not run through the white house

I'm leaving the autocorrects because it's a little funny that way and it's ducking miserable otherwise.
If 50.1% of your voting population doesn't want the rule of law, separation of powers, or a democracy any more... guess what happens next.

Still working for now…..
Does anyone think we will have an actual civil war in the not to distant future?
But it’s the kind of chaos that we wouldn’t disbelieve, so it’s served some purpose anyway. 🤪
