Two senators have introduced a constitutional amendment that would establish term limits for Supreme Court justices, a long-shot escalation of the congressional effort to overhaul the nation’s highest court amid ethics scandals and sinking public approval.

Might as well introduce a constitutional amendment that says eating unlimited ice cream won't make you fat.
This provision was included in Sen. Whitehouse’s proposed TERM Act. What is the rationale for making this portion of the TERM Act standalone?
all the corruption of the maga 6 SC Justices. Ethics reform, expand the court, no lifetime appointments.
Do we really want concerns about their post-SCOTUS careers influencing our highest court?
and it's not like there's no overlap.
But excellent legislation writing, none the less.

or maybe the fact you actually want to politicize the judicial system because your bullshit loses in court all the time???
Can Manchin go fuck himself? Also yes.
but the barn door ???
it will.... to be continued.
Criminals must be prosecuted or the court will never have legitimacy again.
Six of those Federalist Freaks could be prosecuted tomorrow for violating federal disclosure rules and the Due Process clause of the Constitution.
Can’t Biden do an executive order or something? I’m so tired of watching this happen in slow motion and feeling helpless!!!
Thanks for NOTHING - We The People already did our part and elected you to office - You ALL swore an oath to protect The Constitution & ALL of our FREEDOMS, not your own asses by SURRENDERING DEMOCRACY to a Treasonous, Traitorous, Insurrectionist, Facist Dictatorship - So FUK YOU ALL!!!
This is a must.
Increasing the Court to 15 Justices
Single payer health Insurance
Protect Social Security and increase contributions beyond threshold
Passing the John A Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act
Amongst others.
I mean, how was this not already in place..?
they've meant there's minimal institutional memory (lobbyists happily tell them what to write), and nobody's around to deal with the actual long-term effects of implementing the laws they wrote to deal with short-term political issues.
"I have concerns"
[brief discussion period for concerns]
"Oh, ok, go ahead."
Seriously?
Two senate terms and 8 Congressional terms.
This will put more people in service to choose from.
It also would have been smart to replace our liberal Supreme Court justices while we had the chance…
And even then, FDR successfully threatened them with court-packing.
