I've tried reporting it.
Bluesky needs a real verification system. Every day I am dealing with another fake account.

Hey, @marcelias.bsky.social. You have an imposter out there- @marcyelias.bsky.social is posting a bunch of garbage.
Comments
The amount of damage is incalculable.
Repeating lies publicly is one of the cult techniques that Trump used to win the election.
And now America is descending into hell because of it.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. But keep flagging them and we'll report them.
No one can spoof that unless they take your domain.

The account uses Marc’s photograph in its profile. Replies are 180 degrees from Marc’s public stands on many topics.
1. Sequence all usernames
2. Whenever a new user acct signs up, match for likeness to existing 1s
3. If 1st 5 to 7 characters r same, either issue a warning or delay creation for 10 days
4. Permanent block those mass generated email addresses
1. Create a database for all avatars used
2. Use AI to identify those avatars using human faces
3. Verify if avatar actually depicts actual user
4. If not, give a warning and remove avatar
5. Only allow users with the image right to use it in avatars
6. Allow neutral avatars, not human faces

I agree there does need to be some type of verification system.
I really like the badges that identify who went to prep schools and where members of Congress get campaign money
I like you Marc. I want you to do the bare minimum here.
Of course their would need to be some out of band verification by them.

Never understood why social media companies weren't forced to follow KYC laws. Seems like an easy fix to bots and bad actors. The first to adopt rules like these will win.
The Know Your Customer (KYC) rule is a set of US federal laws and regulations that require financial institutions to verify the identities of their clients. The purpose of KYC is to ensure that clients are: Representing themselves truthfully.
Receiving services that are appropriate for their situation, and Not involved in illegal activity.
KYC protects companies from doing business with individuals or organizations that are involved in illegal activity, such as: money laundering, terrorist financing, and corruption.
