I hate the creatively bankrupt and ugly Disney live-action remakes but in fairness to the money-making corporation, most of their live-action big budget blockbuster movies apart from Pirates have been financial failures (John Carter, Lone Ranger, Tomorrowland, Wrinkle in Time, etc)

And their hits are either from properties/franchises they bought or animated originals sans sequels.
I don't want another Toy Story. I want a different story. BUT Disney can do whatever they want and I can choose not to watch
They used to have the license to make comic books based on those stories...
LEAN INTO IT.
Even calling it "John Carter of Mars" would've generated interest.
Also, PLUSH TOYS.
Which is why we’ve had almost nothing but live action remakes, small time cartoons and Star Wars stuff?
How they will do financially is anyone's guess.
I don't know if that will draw in the numbers they need to call the movie a success.
