The thing about this framing is that you absolutely still can get extremely mad at the people *on this website* who didn’t vote, because they ARE politically engaged, actively CHOSE to light the planet on fire, and I think being nice to them is a gigantic waste of time

Too many people on here seem to believe there are exactly two kinds of Americans: ardent politically-obsessed Bluesky users, and frothing MAGA cultists.
There are a LOT of people in this country who *just don’t pay a lot of attention one way or another*.
And we absolutely can reach them.

But then there’s the counter argument that one side is way more explicitly fascist, and there’s a compelling short term reason to vote in this case.
Random Bluesky turd who didn’t vote and devotes hours a day to public masturbation about their political purity? Nah. They’re irrelevant. Be cruel to them if you want.
but so far I’ve only seen the protest voters still demanding a pat on the back
Votes don't belong to the party
Votes belong to the voters
If the Dems try selling shit, and it sells like shit, that's on the Dems
They had a chance to change course, and they refused, and now we all lose
We voted Biden (FTGF) in to stop him already
Then he refused to do his job and let the Chump come back
So the one big chance argument is bullshit
They won that big chance and fucked it
I voted for Harris despite her refusal to condemn genocide, and encouraged others to do so.
I am pretty sure I convinced a few friends to turn out who would not have, but they were all in the same hard blue CA district as me
It is a candidates job to earn more votes, failure is failure.
The numbers are clear
They want to be irrelevant, let’s grant them their wish.
Well here we are and nonvoters need to eat that
Nice work all the way around for the moral purity of not voting.
When you aim to “punish” you punish vulnerable people, not politicians. I don’t like politicians. I care about people so I still figure out what to do.
“The Democrats’ policy in Israel sucks, so let’s make sure the next administration is someone even worse!”

I had to see a doctor! My car was totaled!
I was hideously embarrassed and now vote early even in midterms!
voting is easy for many of us. if you can’t do an easy impactful thing wyd
but someone who won’t take their lunch break? or fill in a mail-in ballot?? foh
I agree with this as a political professional
"Dude, you're tenured faculty at a STATE UNIVERSITY! You're already part of the system."
