I enjoy flyfishing around lily[ads and cattail stalks in shallow water.
There are almost always blakcbirds like these hanging onto a cat tail salk and chirring away.
They keep me entertained.

High KUDOS for capturing its breath like that. I don't think I've ever seen bird-breath quite like that [and it's comical to even say, "bird-breath" considering how it's usually used].
The red winged blackbirds come for breakfast and lunch then for dinner. Screech until I put out a handful of food. Then they go away. There is a protected Wild bird Basin behind my house, we share a fence. It is the best days of the year when they are here.
What kind of bird is that? One of those pecks on our windows at work. Never knew what it was. Lots of fowl in our business park. Geese and I almost got ran over by a Wild Turkey on the way out the door. π€£
These are beautiful, but are we sure this guy isn't just doing the old wake 'n bake? Really looks like he's practiced at making smoke rings in the lower image
Thank you. It's funny, because I didn't write this piece in response to these images. At least not consciously. If I had seen them before I wrote it (and I feel like I must have, somewhere?), they were stored in some unlit corner of memory, and found their way out through this thing
