Dems talk about race, sex & gender constantly & then blame losing the election on race, sex & gender. The pendulum has swung sharply. The Dems constantly complained about being victims while they bent to the fringe far-left. Now sadly Trump is going to show them what being a victim really means.
They don't speak for us, or care about us. We just want to be left alone. We are not political pawns, and our existence shouldn't have to be politicized. It is now literally fed policy to not accept our existence, or care if we die; from neglect, murder, or suicide. (A trans and Queer person, here.)
This isn’t just about one race. It is about all of them & the disabled. If you are White & live in a Red County in a Red state, then you may get off easier. Whites in Blue states will suffer too. Trump’s win will hurt everyone except for the 1-2% elite rich. You should read his Project 2025 plan.
Hopefully, if we still have a Democracy in 4 years, we can win. ALL minorities numbers who voted for Trump this term increased when he showed he was a racist bigot. The only voter base that increased for Harris was educated White people. I will never understand this. Ever. The price of Eggs???
The US was never a democracy and never will be. Not without a true revolution. And fyi, the "all lives matter" bullshit is tired. We are being disenfranchised, gaslit, and erased from public life, and killed. We may not have 4 years.
I understand. He needs to be impeached. He should have never even been elected his 1st term, but people stayed home, because they weren’t “inspired”
to vote for Clinton. This led to >1.1 million COVID deaths. He hurts everyone who is not a rich older White Man, with a few White female exceptions.
I don't really care about electoral politics. The two parties may have diff ethical stances, but in reality, both serve the elite and are willing to throw their own supposed people under the bus to serve the desires of the elite. All of the Dems who have run have been centrists/moderates, at best.
@krassenstein.bsky.social I think you mistyped 'marginalized' in the first part of your post. It reads like the democrats contribute to the marginalization of people.
Boy does that hit home. Just lost a 35 year friendship over our stance on people that think that way. I understand I am going to need to get used to losing people
And we believe this is normal. The mill of rights says it isn’t. Other countries are functional. They serve to help the people who elected them. Our country takes rights away from citizens. Evil people live here
I used to be a Job Creation Officer with the federal government in a former life.We introduced Affirmative Action Hiring Plans as discriminating on behalf of Visible Minorities, Women in Non-Traditional Employment, & folks with Disability. The goal was to match representation in employment numbers.🇨🇦
100%!! Now, when they use the term, DEI = people of color and women. Racism and misogyny even when veiled by catchy terms, is still racism and misogyny.
I'm not sure that says what you were going for there. As written, Dems are the ones marginalizing communities instead of helping marginalizeD communities, which is what they actually try to do.
Shouldn't that say that Democrats make laws to help marginalized communities. Right now it implies that Democrats are helping to marginalize communities.
That’s the truth! Republicans are in for themselves and to hell with everyone else. They are great liars and deceiver’s!
They’re not to be trusted. They are not basically good people and not to be trusted. They want to rule over people. To be the Masters of the Universe! We have seen enough proof !
No, Democrats help marginalize communities all the time. They are why African Americans are associated with welfare despite not being the top recipients of said welfare. Republicans are hostile fascists. Democrats are lukewarm elitists. They enable each other and have for decades.
Had a similar thought, but was—to begin—wondering about the likely typo. Wonder if there's a word for that, when a typo reveals a deeper or different truth.
Unfortunately until we can all come together as people of this earth and not one side against the other we are doomed to keep going in a vicious circle. While I agree the Democrats SEEM to back equal rights they like their pocketbooks full just as much as the next guy. (Well most of them)
The cognitive dissonance that allows trump supporters to overlook his racism, homophobia, and misogyny is the same dissonance that allows harris supporters to overlook dems sending our tax dollars by the billions to fund genocide in Palestine. They play for the same team (rich ruling class)
Pretty sure someone would have mentioned this by now but your first statement sounds exactly like democrats intentionally help to MARGINALIZE communites (and I think you meant they help communities that are already marginalized so... add a D?) (yah... I'm THAT kinda Karen)
Sadly their strategy is mostly working. Dems need to fight back much harder and have better messaging. I feel like a lot of us on Bluesky are the foot soldiers doing the fighting that elected Dems should be doing.
And they’re tossing brown people under the bus by colluding with Republicans in voting for the Laken Riley Act and millions of others by voting to confirm Trump’s appointees. Most of them are completely spineless. They need to learn they better go left or they’re going to get left…again.
You don't have to tell me. I saw what they did to Oakland California in the 60's. I saw it in my community, too. Keeping people on drugs, keeping them on welfare to keep them out of the job market, building jails, not schools. A complete disenfranchisement of a community.
Democrats make laws to keep Americans working and buying and watching. Marginalized communities have to fight the violent hatred and demonization for generations, convince them that pity and charity are profitable. Then have to fight the bigots and meet work requirements, fear abandonment, beg
The Republicans in Congress, in addition to being corrupt, are cowards and hacks. They are merely servants to Trump and the billionaires. Shameful and disgraceful. They all must be voted out!
We want to have a future where most everything is moving forward and upward it’s not with Republicans, that’s how we got here now, today! I want a real future for all people up and down the social ladder, no super rich and powerful, no super poor people who are outside looking in,that’s not America!
Does anyone else remember the phrase, “No taxation without representation”?
How “represented” do you feel by anyone in Washington DC, on either side of the aisle?
How long has it been since you were even offered a candidate that represented you?
Americans used to know what to do about that. 😒
The sick reality is 77 million Americans voted for Trump knowing who he is and 90 million Americans didn't stop it. While I don't disagree that money has become a toxin in our democracy, our politics really does seem to be a reflection of the population.
A lot of us on the left stayed home, because if genocide is a purity test Dems can’t pass, then they don’t represent us.
Dems were completely on board with loosing us, as well. They expected their cool new Republican friends to vote for them and not expect healthcare or no genocide.
Bad choice.
I believe the quote said to “repeat that for Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin?”
Not only did it not work (as evidenced by the Trump presidency), they abandoned their base to take the loss.
What is defendable about abandoning your ideals to embrace genocide only to loose anyway?
Who are you defending?
And if they had forfeited any chance of winning by condemning the genocide outright, losing the Jewish vote, and shifting more moderates to Trump, would they be representing you now? No. They'd still have lost and very likely worse.
This is the problem a lot of people seem to have; both on the left and right. You think that if your ideology is catered to then it'll be a slam-dunk win. But the sad reality is that progressivism isn't a dominant ideology. Catering to it too strongly becomes electoral suicide in our Overton Window.
We wanted genocide to stop and were told to sit down.
We’re told US doesn’t want universal healthcare, but 63% say gov should ensure coverage (Pew 2022), & 70% back a public option. Partisan divides exist, but cross-partisan majorities agree:
healthcare is a right.
We’re being managed and lied to.
They would have lost AIPAC money, not popular Jewish support, and they rely on that money.
I know several Jews, many I befriended at pro-Palestine protests at my local state university, that refused to vote for Harris.
If genocide is a purity test Dems can’t pass, then what are Dems for?
Dems recognize they can't do jack shit to help anything if they lose. And who you meet at a university doesn't matter if it doesn't translate to votes in the battleground states that matter.
And yes, a lot of votes would have been lost if we abandoned Israel cold turkey to all its regional enemies.

When did that start happening?
Republicans marginalize communities. Full stop.

No, not pink Floyd just division
If you want to cement bad ideas, in ignorant people, use logic.
💜
You are hurting the cause.
Not marginalize them.

Great job with the loss of any progress of climate change by the way
That's an R thing.
