With this release, we've added a "Moderation" section to the drawer where you can control all your content settings, mutelists, muted users, and blocked users.

ℹ️ Due to Apple's app store policies, adult content is now hidden by default on iOS. You must sign in at https://staging.bsky.app to enable adult content.
I know you didn't call it out in this list but I LOVE the change to the dropdown when you tag a user, its SO much easier to be sure I pick the right one now. And the crop settings for images on https://staging.bsky.app! Thank you!!!!
moderation should be placed in settings > advanced. This looks like clutter, no one would be accessing moderation as frequently as profile, notifs, search or home.
Only took me a whole minute to realize the list pic was not a user pfp, my brain trying to figure out which "you" the "list by you" was referring to. 😅
@pfrazee.com - I know this likely isn’t in v1 of the feature, but any plans to provide a way for the moderators/ admins of an instance to query the most muted / blocked users that appear on these lists?
Would help with identifying potential problems @ the admin level through organic curation.
Awesome! Whenever dms roll out, I’ll send over some relevant deets on trust & safety from other fediverse projects I’ve been involved with on the dev side.
Any plans to add a reason/comment for normal mute? Subscribing to lists are great as baseline to hide ads, spam, bots etc., but list owners might get harassed by angry muted users. So would likely still use muted accounts for personal mutes
Can we try it out on some account that automatically posts regularly? So we’d have something to play around with and not force anybody to sacrifice their reputation? I’d like to know if mute hides the posts both on the What’s Hot feed and your Following feed.
I think this sets a great precedent that every social media company should use their CEO as the example target in documentation for every user moderation action
I would also love to have "block lists" and "block list chains", wherein I am able to also block the person who invited some terrible troll, and both of their followers. Reputation-based blocking, as it were. I think would go a long way towards community safety.
Would be super cool with built-in functionality for suggesting additions to mute lists you follow. UX for suggester could be ~identical to adding to your own lists, except a message that it has been suggested. For owner, shows up as notification, and as pending when viewing list.
Hi Paul. I've had adult content filters set to "hide" since I've joined but I've still seen nsfw content. I'm only mentioning this now so you can be aware of the issue, to ensure things go well with Apple & other partners. The filters don't catch the more creative nsfw & furry content.
I'm slightly confused by the wording of this. "Sign in ... to enable" implies that signing in on the web can turn it on in the app? Unless I'm missing something, it seems more accurate to say that you have to use web to view it (no way to enable it for the app), right?
It’s odd that extreme violence and extreme sexual content is labeled “adult content” rather than “extreme content” or graphic, disturbing, potentially soul crushing content.
I’m an adult.
I like basketball, dog videos, and posts about travel and language learning.
Happy to have that remain off, im surprised Apple didn't clue in to that content appearing prior to the default off setting being a thing in the app, or did they miss it the first few times?
Is this available in the Android app? I can't seem to find any of these things in my profile, but perhaps I'm missing an obvious affordance somewhere...

Okay. I need to stop working lol

Troll accounts can be flagged by the community and effectively soft banned early until an instance’s mods have time to review / make a call.
The first firestorm seemed to be battling all the hellthread lewds to get back in the Apple App Store
I'm sure their classifier will get better over time, as well as their whole "composable moderation" proposal

That is my “adult content”.
Any info on if/when these sync? I've set them in staging, I've also restarted the app but it claims different settings.
