True story: I missed the symptoms of high blood sugar due to the onset of diabetes because they're similar to depression and, well, it was 2020 and I was furloughed, isolating alone, on unemployment... who wasn't be depressed during that time?! Didn't even occur to me to get checked out by a doctor.
I’ve decided to look for little glimmers of happiness every day and enjoy them. Kitty climbs in my lap-a happy. Dog brings me his favorite toy-a happy. Cheese in the back of the drawer not moldy-a happy. Sunny day-a happy. Less political info is also needed since it’s soul crushing and fights happy.
Before you diagnose yourself with depression make sure you are not in fact surrounded by assholes.....or something like that...I think Freud said it maybe 🤔
I know it isn't easy to find one, but see a professional. Depression is more a syndrome rather than a disease. It has varied etiology, and various presentations. Depressed mood is only one of the cardinal symptoms, the other is loss of interest or pleasure in things you used to enjoy.
Can I interest you in Persistent Depressive Disorder? You get to stay “high functioning,” never have a breakdown, but also want to go back to bed for 95% of your waking hours.
I'll do you one better. How about some "double depression"? All the fun of Persistent Depressive Disorder, but you also get to have the occasional breakdown. Best of both worlds. 0/10.
OMG…sweet baby Jesus and the grown one too. No thank you! See the way my trauma is set up I don’t get to break down. You’ve described my version of hell. ❤️ and 💡.

Me [Head]: "Have you not been existing in this society?!"
Me [Aloud]: "Nope"
