Our system is brutal, Kafkaesque, and inhuman, but as long as we have it, I favor devoting more resources to tracking down more of these online threateners and shoving them, squealing, into said system.
What are the laws governing something like this? I know grand juries are meant to be in secret, but how much book can come at you for breaking that like this?
the prevalence of pseudonymity on the Internet allows for so much abuse it's easy to forget how much worse the alternative is; in line with a lot of the trade-offs around free speech
Facebook and LinkedIn aren't anonymous. Numerous studies have also shown that there is no (or perhaps negative) correlation between using names vs anonymous.
As am IANAL obviously and not a lawyer-type person, I am wondering how common it is for states to provide the names of grand jurors. It seems to this layman to be a doubleplusungood proposition.
NYT: the motive behind the doxxing remains unclear but one thing is certain, whether it’s president trump threatening to kill the judge or Hunter Biden doing two chicks at the same time, both parties are equally bad
I’d heard that the jurors’ names were public as part of the process. Is that true, or common? Seems really risky, especially given assholes like these doxxers.
Also, I have to wonder about those willing to commit such fuckery for someone like Trump who doesn’t give a fuck about them.
I noted that several news sites posted a link to the indictment which, perhaps it’s a Georgia thing, had the full names of each of the grand jurors on it.

let the system absolutely consume these people.

Not that they won't try to figure it out and subsequently attempt mobster intimidation. Because law and order dontchaknow
