I don’t use mass blocklists for the same reason I would never use an AI to sing a lullaby to my child. Some things just deserve the personal touch so someone knows you were thinking about them.

I've never used the blocklists, just like I've never participated in those irritating "follow back" parties. I earned every one of my 400 followers on Twitter, and I'm happy to spend the next ten years building that estimable number here. You have to earn the block too.
Even proponents of AI have never said it has the reasoning capability of an average six year old child. So anything I wouldn't let a six year old do for me I shouldn't let AI do. (That leaves nothing)
too many folks getting put on them unnecessarily. leftist folks that oppose what's happening in gaza and obvious parody accounts keep getting put on lists for maga and nazis.
As a person who first account WAS blocked by at Twitter when you defended Patrick Frey and I wanted to see him fail, I can attest that it is a rewarding experience.
I still cry a little thinking abt all the great tweets I missed
Both imply that there are enemies within your home.
But “enemies within” implies the possibility that your enemies have shrunken themselves Fantastic Voyage style and are now within your body.
In which case I recommend a diet of Taco Bell and Monster to make your body an uninhabitable shithole.
Early on, I saw some block lists with good folks on them -- folks who worked against the orange fascist, supported Harris/Walz & tried to get others to not vote for fascism-
so I don't do block lists -
I know who the enemy is.
According to my phone, my lullaby goes “Hush and I are going to go to the store and get w my mom and then go to the grocery store.” I’ll treasure this moment forever
Nobody's forcing you to block en masse. I use the list as a guide as to who seems to be who around here and I make my own decisions. I find them all to be generally very helpful.
But you will only know if they're all MAGA if you vet them. I have issues with the blocked list of alleged grifters. There are some people on there who truly post valuable information IMO, and if they ask for money, it's up to me whether or not I want to give to them. PS: I don't, ever.
I've used a hard maga block list, and it seems OK. But I've almost used a block list that had people I actually choose to follow on it. It had several never-Trump repubs and a few other cantankerous folk (which I sometimes enjoy). Be careful with blanket block lists, as some are very very sensitive.
I'm pretty sure I did that with one list, but it was a pretty tedious process of going through the list and clicking on each name, so I could take a look at their posts.
At the other site, there were hundreds of thousands who think that debate is really more like heckling. Too many to contemplate - if we had that many here, a mass block list would be quite useful.

Block people you don't like but cut the trash talking, that is not what I am here for.
Blocking people one by one is way more satisfying.

Nazis wants me to think about them. So, I mass block them and fantasizes about how mad they are that I don't even know who I've blocked.
Handwriting a letter, making a meal, poetry…

Can I mass block half?
"Oh, it's only a Block if it comes from the Blok region of France. Otherwise, it's sparkling timeline cultivation!"
:P
Then I realized just how bleak that would be...
(Maybe they do, and I missed it?)
