FWIW, about 24 hours ago I was told by someone who is plugged in and sharp that the most likely Yeses were Schumer, Hassan, Peters, Durbin, Schatz, King, Shaheen, Fetterman, Cortez Masto and Gillibrand.

When Chuck Schumer can only garner the support of 8 of the 46 Democratic Senators, he is no longer the Democratic Leader in any meaningful sense. However this vote goes, he must step down.
The new Vichycaucus. Trump thanking Schumer should have been a massive red flag on its own but Schumer is bought and paid for, he is owned by Wall street and is socially liberal for Manhattan Fashionistas.
This looks like the entire caucus colluding to have some people play villains when it’s likely a lot of them want the CR to succeed. The risk aversion is nauseating.
Hassan's DC office had a waiting time but did reach a human. They said she had no opinion known on the cloture vote. Not a constituent, so others should keep calling.
I know we might not have the answers to these questions, but the list is such a "hodge podge" that I'm very curious about a few of them
-Is Schatz due to federal workers in Hawaii? (Wouldn't typically expect him to be "yes")
-What about Gillibrand?
The fact that JB Pritzker just posted he was against it (as governor, he didn't have to say anything) makes me think he's trying to twist Duckworth and Durbin's arms.
Did we break Dick Durbin's phone lines? Took me a while to even get through to the Chicago line which only lets you leave a message. The DC line has given like 5 different cannot complete call messages different from the usual recorded "lines are busy"
It occurs to me that by pulling this late maneuver, Schumer has now essentially put a Dem face on a shutdown if it happens, rather than having made the case along the way that D’s were voting NO due to R’s extreme bill. Just feckless all the way around. What a clusterf*ck.
Agreed. They’re not listening. Personally, I think they don’t care anymore and are secretly planning not to run again. Regardless, neither will ever get my vote again. I’ll sit out the vote or vote write in or third party rather than vote for either of them if they win their primaries.
He is pulling from “leadership” and “retiring” and Fetterman.
That would be Peters and Shaheen as Retires. Himself Gillibrand Durbin Schatz and Cortez Masteo for
Leadership team. Plus weirdo Fetterman.
Not sure about King and Hassan.
You’re right! It is a real concern. But a vote for cloture leads to the GOP’s horrendous budget bill passing and that is basically the end of any guard rails against what trump and musk are doing. That budget bill must die as is at any cost, even a shutdown.
How many of these are up in 2026? There's enough backlash to Schumer that anyone voting yes should expect a primary in 2026. Even people who vote "no" might get primaried in 2026 because of Schumer
That’s a small fraction of the Senate Democratic Caucus. It tells me one thing, that the other 4/5 of Senate Democrats need to elect a new Leader on Monday.
I mean how can Durbin and Schumer maintain their leadership positions being so out of step with their caucus on such a critical vote? Neville Chamberlain’s cowardice and appeasement eventually cost him his job and is suspect this will be the case here as well.
Schatz wants to be in leadership some day. If you look at the difference between House D's and supposed Senate D "no"s, it's pretty clear a lot of Senate D's want the CR to pass and don't want to get blamed for voting for it. Schatz is walking the plank to build goodwill.
If these shit stains can’t do the right thing than what the fuck are we doing anything for?!? Why is this even a question of yes or no? Vote NO! For your country
Schumer's argument that a shutdown would be worse makes no sense. If that's what the White House wants, absolute power during a shutdown, why aren't Republicans voting in favor of it?
Likely because then it truly would be a Republican government shutdown and they would lose their own. This way, because Dems suck at messaging, if they get the shutdown they can (try) to hang it around Dem necks and blame all the damage they are causing on the Dems. MAGA will eat it up.
MAGA voters made up only 33% of the 32% of Trump Voters. If we do some math here, that is just over 10% of all those who voted in the 2024 election. Fuck Schumer and fuck MAGA.
Every person who voted for Donald Trump is a MAGA voter. Stop giving these people a fucking pass, just because then lie about having “economic anxiety” or some other bullshit.
I'm not giving anyone anything, but, like it or not (and I don't like it either) the distinction DOES matter in situations like this when bending the knee is being considered as an option.
I talked to them Wednesday. Staffer said he's thinking about his vote. 🙄 I asked if he's going to have a town hall because I'd to confront him if he votes yes. Staffer said he doesn't have his schedule. Completely useless as a senator.
