Willing to bet herr Miller was part of this. As well as AIPAC. AIPAC has quite the deal they spread 51 million around to both parties. Then our govt gives Israel billions.
Everyone needs to push back on these fascists.
Garcia was moved to a different prison. Keep pushing back.
More of us than them
I’ve seen some info on Big Ten universities banding together to fight trump regime interference in research and basic constitutional rights. Do you know where this stands? Anyone?
Their pretensions to dictatorship are complete bullshit at this point, and they either didn't realize how unprepared they are for this confrontation, or else decided to try to bluster their way through it.
They are already facing what amounts to criminal contempt proceedings, and if they try to defy a U.S. Marshal under these conditions, they are likely to fail.
Their best hope is to try to scramble to clean up as much as they can and hope SCOTUS is mollified enough to bail them out.
Democrats need to apply maximum pressure right now and help the Judiciary put them into a fucking cage.
SCOTUS is corrupt as fuck, so it won't be a great cage, and SCOTUS will try to retcon it into being a palace, but the reality is they are already 9-0 against the gulag.
The Trump regime's gross incompetence will accrue to the favor of Harvard and the nation as the University's strong response has empowered so many others not to capitulate.
He's less of a bully than he is a con man. And con men always want marks. Marks are easy. It's why the Nigerian prince emails are so obvious. Because they want people who are that credulous. Same with Trump. Trump has always harmed those closest to him the most. His employees, his contractors, etc.
I thought this at first. But after reading, I wasn't sure. They tell this "mistake" story, but they haven't taken back the letter. Nor have they backed down on any of the anti-Harvard steps they took: billions in canceled contracts, threats of removing nonprofit, banning international students.
It only works because no one is escalating this stupidity from the Dems. Just imagine if the Dems did these things how the Republicans would react but I am beyond disappointed with the Dems. They are so bad at messaging.
I’m also very upset that the media is going along with the excuse! Kilmer was NOT mistakenly deported. They did it on purpose and they knew what they were doing. This letter existed on purpose! Why is the media just allowing them to change this narrative without any pushback??
Haven’t Trump and his minions been posting about the letter and Harvard for a week? Threatening to remove Harvard’s tax exempt status? And this evening they decided the letter was mistakenly sent (after they’ve talked about it for a week)??
Not only does this show how weak Trump is, it accentuates how fucking pathetic all the other universities and major law firms that bent their knees to him are.
If they don’t publicly and actually discipline somebody and whoever hired them, then it was authorized. Undoubtedly by disappearing Signal message.
*They can’t prove they didn’t* and there’s no reason to believe anything they say without receipts.
This makes Columbia look especially stupid and evil. Like wow, they really gave the gestapo a guided tour to kidnap their most vulnerable students, and promised to pledge eternal fealty to the god-emperor, when instead they could have just said "no" once
The really good thing about this is that it will show how to make him back down. No other college needs to bow. States also need to form these coalitions of protection as well. Their plans only work if they can attack one entity at a time.
This was always the solution. Republicans took turns during his first term to show slight backbone. He would aim all his attention on that one person. If they would have done it in unison, they never would have lost all their power to him.
Oh. So, in other words, if someone says, "Hell, No!" to them, and gets a ton of supportive publicity, they'll back off? More of this, please, to see if this is a pattern.
Oh god it's super late at night and you mentioned a burrito and now I'm super hungry. I'm getting way too comfortable in the last 15 minutes since the Supreme Court overruled the stupid fucking alien sedition act or whatever it's called. 🌯 🌯 🌯
They are taking their easy wins now to consolidate power. If they get any pushback they aren’t going to really fight unless it’s a major part of their agenda like the concentration camps.
Then they will come back stronger.
It’s why nobody should fall over in the first round with a fascist.
I think, if they could choose between a competent fascist takeover of society and....whatever the fuck they're doing now, I know what they would choose. Problem with dictatorships is that competency is not rewarded, only obedience.
This is a huge benefit of all competent people resigning from any position that assists the Trump Administration in any manner. All that's left are the clowns, who are manifetsly gonna clown.
Make them earn every millimeter. No freebies, they're relying on getting enough of those to build up momentum. And stand with whatever target they pick next 'cause they sure as hell won't forget you later.
My guess: When Harvard responded, someone in the WH went "What the heck are they talking about? We never said the things they're complaining about."
"Here's the letter they were sent."
"Holy cow, who wrote that? That's insane!"
"Hey, don't blame me, I didn't write it, it just has my name on it."
This is Rule 1 of all authoritarians. Never admit error or fallibility. Your scheming viziers misled you. Your secretary has a hearing problem. Your new hire doesn’t understand procedure. This letter was never written and whoever wrote it messed up and you misinterpreted it. Art of the deal.
Could also be that the hardliners jumped the gun to send it out, and this leak is the somewhat-less-hardline-but-still-awful making the others look bad.
It might, might, set the stage for a climb-down, but we haven't seen that happen yet.
Oh, I can definitely see adolescent-level internal conflicts resulting in such a moronic move.
And they missed their opportunity for a climb-down by doubling down when Harvard responded to the letter. They started all this "oopsie" nonsense when they realized they're about to get yanked down.

Stand up to bullies
Punch fascists in the face!
Is this the same Robert Hur that tried to embarrass President Biden?
Their pretensions to dictatorship are complete bullshit at this point, and they either didn't realize how unprepared they are for this confrontation, or else decided to try to bluster their way through it.
Hopefully its too late for them.

1. When you stand. up to Trump, he folds. Not always but often.
2. He picks on the weak. It should always be a, "pick on someone your own size bully" retort.
Watch these jackasses skitter away from the mess they made.
Pointing fingers is their idea of taking responsibility, apologizing, and doing whatever it takes to make it might.
Their inadequacy is just SCREAMING out.
ORGANIZE HIGHER EDUCATION
we are all watching and cheering
you are exactly right
I can't believe that it works, again and again
*They can’t prove they didn’t* and there’s no reason to believe anything they say without receipts.
Their hands slipped and fell into a text editing tool... with agressive, treathening, demanding tone first???
What a bunch of losers 😆
Keep pushing back on these wankers!
Maybe some secret arrangement was made.
It's fishy to me
Does someone have an estimate of the overall cost handy??
I wouldn't be surprised if El Salvador starts trying to get out of the deal. He held their feet to the fire!!
I believe it's going to cost them a ton of money in the long term.
Then they will come back stronger.
It’s why nobody should fall over in the first round with a fascist.
These morons are pathetic and weak. They are full of bluster til someone hits back. Then they fold like a cheap suit.
"Here's the letter they were sent."
"Holy cow, who wrote that? That's insane!"
"Hey, don't blame me, I didn't write it, it just has my name on it."
But it got sent, and bullies are too stupid to back down when they should, so Trump and them decided to double-down.
Didn't work, so now they're laying the case to work the ref (judge) later.
It might, might, set the stage for a climb-down, but we haven't seen that happen yet.
