I have horrific bodily reactions to everything pharmacological but alcohol. I can't even drink tonic water. The only booze I really can't stomach is white wine because it's too acidic. But straight gin my body is like "no probs".

I take any opportunity to say I’ve long believed “we’ve” overlooked/downplayed the connection that accelerating climate change will accelerate a global rightward shift. Even deniers feel the tickle on their neck. People will want “protection” and “ours” and easy solutions that don’t exist.

I’ve always seen the chain of reasoning as: climate change, even without *widespread* disasters lead to climate refugees, who strain resources where they end up, leading to more racism and xenophobia leading to protectionist nationalism which dovetails right into fascism in short order
