My friend and I were talking about voting in the UK and the weird venues we've voted in, and then I said "but I've never had to queue..." And my friend went "oh, I've queued. Only once though, and it was less than a minute" and then we both shook our heads at the concept of having to queue to vote.

I have seen long lines of voters in a mix of countries, but the long line that surprised me was the voting lines in Sweden a few years back.

Also, as a victim of religious trauma, FUCK churches. Miserable.
However, one political party in particular uses precinct locations and staffing as a type of voter exclusion.
You'll find longer lines and less polls in poor communities of color, that might vote for the other lot.
It's not going to get better, until more Americans value democracy again.
