such a shame about the islanders and their administration all being kidnapped and stowed away on a desert island. too bad they could not participate this year. miss them
The one I keep coming back to is how Sam Reinhart might actually be having a better season this year than he did last year. His PPG is higher, more of his points are coming at 5v5, his xGF% is over 60. It's crazy.
Might be obvious but not painfully…Minnesota being good despite having that $14M hole in their cap. They shouldn’t be bad per se, but not “challenge for the central and west” good, either.
How the Buffalo Sabres have sucked every bit of joy out of the sport for me to the point I'm going to feel disgusted when they hand the Lombardi to Terry Pegula because at best I want him to feel no joy in his life.
im really fascinated by buffalo accumulating all the trade capital and cap space just to use it on beck malenstyn, ryan mcleod, dennis gilbert, james reimer, and nicolas aube-kubel. like thats just not even trying and i don't even root for them
PWHL growth, Vegas continuing to make a mockery of the salary cap, NHL HCs being completely disposable but also gigantic determinants of success (Paul Maurice continued glow-up). This was a huge year for front offices unsuccessfully trying to play the media. Utah's a big story.

Couple that with Lou being way over the hill
