"Uncovered"? Only in America is someone's medical history referred to as "preexisting conditions". A term created by insurance companies as a means to defraud their customers.
Uncovered? Y'all just ignored it until bullets made ignoring it impossible. Think of all the stories you could have run about people dying due to denied claims and all the good those stories could have done. Y'all are part of the problem.
This is more than just an insurance company problem. The most ironic part is that I have had no issues with UH withholding care, but have filed numerous complaints with them about Drs who upcode, unbundle, and commit other fraudulent billing, and UH always upholds the claims.
“Uncovered”. You mean the media is finally covering one of the biggest issues facing Americans? Of course we are mad. Just ask us and we will each tell you our own horror stories. All of us have them. New ones all the time.
So... this is it? It takes THIS to get the media to really report on the scammy healthcare? Oh wait... school shootings too... LOOK what's been done to prevent that... yeah, exactly: nothing.
It was never “covered” from view. You didn’t think it was news to the titans who buy your subscriptions. If you shared so much as a lunchroom with fellow employees who earn less than you, and if you were in the habit of paying attention to them, you’d have known it for years.
You’re bad at news.
It’s a failure of journalism that it took the assassination of a health insur co CEO to “uncover deep anger among Americans toward the health insurance industry”, when we have decades of history and millions of examples of people going bankrupt, suffering, and dying bc that industry denied coverage.
Uncovered?? It finally shined a light on the issue. Of course MSM would never talk about it due to the fact they're owned by billionaires who prolly sit on a board of an insurance Co. or have massive shares in them. It's just yet another story of "capitalism" stepping on us little people.
I love the understatement...deep anger is more like howling rage....now do a few media moguls and bring the @#$% news media around...then some more insurance guys....buncha bank guys... some billionaires...
Yeah...I am uncivilized about it, welcome to the war, bootcamp.
The headline written by someone who does not live with Healthcare Insurance fuckery weekly. I have had UHC for the last 4 yrs, and it's a full time job keeping track. It's exhausting to have to review every...single...claim for "mistakes".
As a Medicare user I feel targeted by UHC denial bots. I spent hours calling w/the simple question, "why was my claim denied, when it was accepted the previous time." I am capable of doing this, but many Elders are not & will give up. It's brutal to include this "strategy" into a business plan.
They need to put disclaimers in short plain language defining what they are. And, we demand they quit using the terms like health insurance and healthcare insurance. They don't provide healthcare to people. They are nothing but financial entitities beholden to shareholders.
People are sick of getting stuck paying $300 every week for sub par health insurance and then getting a bill from the hospital because said insurance doesn't cover anything yet the CEO gets a bonus that year... I'm almost better off just cancelling my insurance and paying out of pocket
They post record profits, care deeply about shareholder value, all while denying services to those they insure, deny doctor recommended surgeries (even after multiple appeals), raising rates, cutting plan benefits. Just a perfect storm.
This man lost his life because we have a predatory healthcare system, among other businesses, that Congress is complacent, as they too benefit financially
Republicans are planning another run at killing Obamacare, allowing insurers to exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions. +Guns. Health care providers and execs better be careful, they'll be the target, not the politicians taking industry money to increase industry profit
You think? If you weren’t previously aware, you weren’t paying attention. People are sick of the crap that insurance companies do to people who pay premiums and expect them to cover medical expenses. I hope every single insurance company C suite employee is looking over their shoulder. #M4AllNow
Uncovered? Shit we've been pissed off, y'all just didn't care until someone finally got fed up. Denying claims for sick kids and wheel chairs, for shareholders profits. You live by the sword you die by the sword.
Wait til America gets sick of other Government Agencies, killing off the population for the benefit of a few. Backing citizens into a corner will only work for so long.
Really? You media elite (with wonderful insurance) just waking up to that after MILLIONS of Americans killed and bankrupted by ghouls like Thompson? Maga, Left, Indies all share the same rage.
The partnership of greed between the insurance and healthcare industries has driven up the cost of American medical care way beyond that in any developed country.
That said, It's hard to imagine that is the reason for this particular individual's murder.
*looking down from my ivory tower at the masses that keep wishing for healthcare year in and year out* Oh Bother, it seems The Poors are upset about something, whatever could it be?
"uncovered" have y'all been living in a different reality? Americans fucking hate their healthcare system and want it dismantled and tossed into the oblivion
Insurance companies are happy for you to pay premiums but not so happy when you need coverage for a medical issue. What is their value add over a govt funded plan?
In other news, water is wet. We are all tired of it and this person might have possibly lost someone near and dear and it broke them. For profit healthcare is the problem, full stop.
It's not just anger, people are afraid for their lives. So many of us are just one health emergency away from abject poverty. And companies like UH have done that to us.
Can someone explain the value of insurance companies? Explain it as if I was a child. Because I know insurance companies add about 35 to 45 percent to medical care costs while adding nothing of value. And they routine reward those who deny patients the coverage that they actually paid for.

Insurance companies are Republicans' death panels
Do you think this just spontaneously popped up instead of being generations in the making?
Might not be just a phrase
You’re bad at news.
Yeah...I am uncivilized about it, welcome to the war, bootcamp.
What a silly thing to say. Unless you've been asleep for 40+ years, duh.
And, it's a simmering volcano of fury, thank you very much.
How 🎯🎯🎯!

In Network deductible $4000
Out Network deductible $6000
I have higher co-pays, and lower % covered
I’ve been angry for years but next year’s enrollment was shocking
These groups could discern facts & then report those to public so they could be well-informed & know how to pressure govt to act on their behalf.
Gosh, what might we call something like that?
Hey instead of that, how about they just not try to squeeze every single penny out of their customers.
