I can't wait for this AI bubble to pop. Imagine this stupid policy but for people with the right NFT knowledge. Plus rather than help in the system, he's making it harder for people that need to be here. The cruelty is the point.
He means Britain will be a haven for those who don't want to pay taxes and will be able to destroy the environment without needing approval from the local council.
What right has Starmer earned? With his tone, being born there doesn't strike me as a good enough answer. What has he contributed to England that outshines the contributions of migrants?
The language used by Starmer is once again parroting the regime in the US. "You must earn the right... it is a privellage to be allowed to live here... etc etc" But even if you do all these things, we'll still kick you out the second we feel like it.
Theyβre in for a surprise in β29. The locals were a tiny preview. Their voting base is completely unstable and all it needs is one or two instabilities and labour lose. Tracking to the far right is the most risky strategy with the least political gain, but Iβm not surprised because theyβre stupid.
Wonder how long it will be before we have a UK version of ICE taking people from the streets if they speak out against the government. Lip service to clinicians after pulling funding & sackings in NHS.
The usual immigration policy of every rich country: let those with money in easily, and bar those without. "AI leaders" is just code for shitty businessmen who can drive the AI hype cycle, or engineers who can help it be perpetuated.
it means hashtag leaders in hashtag ai! π€ chatgpt lock all the doors at number 10 and overheat the servers and computers and stuff so that they [redacted]
Yeah, they did already straight up admit they were going to put AI at the centre of their plans so trying to entice AI tossers to come here and peddle their AI toss is clearly just part of that. Asinine
Notice they say 'significant contribution', and not 'positive contribution'. 'AI leaders' (whatever they are) haven't contributed much. The biggest advancements have been in generative AI, which is unethical on numerous levels.
Itβll have its place but weβve learned nothing from the tech crash of the 90s. Also reminds me of the GM promises of the 90s. So little has been delivered and it is not because of regulation itβs just very difficult and complicated.
"We're getting rid of all these nasty migrants who want to steal from you, and we're opening the floor to nasty businessmen who want to steal from you."
Families of 4 can look forward to spending over 50k just for immigration fees/NHS surcharges. But considering the UK govt loves to increase costs/move the goalposts, it'll prob be more. Mind people also have to meet min salary requirements w no recourse to public funds at all.
The audacity of anti-immigrant yet settler colonial nations, who are also in fact dependent on immigrants to function. British Empire state of mind. Demented.
If your company website mentions ai, chat bot or machine learning... Because someone implemented a state machine in a product and your marketing guy got confused... You're an ai leader, I guess.
"...earn the right..." what fucking nonsense. Why would anyone - especially from the EU - want to do that? I don't want to fucking live here much longer, and I was born here.
I would say Starmer really has to stop just chasing headlines that will appease cunts, but I think it's too late for that
We keep being told that AI can replace people and be more efficient than they were. How about we have AI replace AI leaders? I think it could do the job well. Constantly repeating the same inane statements, with the occasional wild non-sequitur, is totally on brand for that role.
In other words, the "wealthy immigrants" who "could be helping their own countries". Seems less likely to be the case for nurses though, given how care workers are now less likely to be granted visas (if I recall correctly).

π£ Calling all South Afrikaners nerds! We know you know A.I., so what are you waiting for, white this place up, you oppressed aryans!"π¨
he wants to meet the wizard of oz, all of his actual plans depends on this ai bullshit becoming real immediately ha ha.
All this does is make it seem more valid and increase the chances we get Reform in power next election. It's so depressing.
Kinda just sounds like labour has no backbone or integrity
Kinda just sounds like Starmer is a coward and incompetentβ¦
More realistically it facilitates Palantir's state capture in the UK. They already have a head start with Mandelson in place.
Labour are the default "not the Tory" option in the UK so they go in.
They think they won on policy, not by default.
If you're wondering why they suddenly were reaching out to Bush era GOP, it was the consultants.
Because... what could possibly go wrong?
Or how Trussenomics was arrived at?

But if that's the policy of a country, fuck it, I ain't coming anyway.
Artificially Inseminated.
He's like the living embodiment of everything shit in the UK and I wish his organs were out to better use in someone else
I would say Starmer really has to stop just chasing headlines that will appease cunts, but I think it's too late for that
Fucking hate this government.
