Doritos made a "name this flavor" contest about a decade back and I promise you it tasted EXACTLY like a McDonalds happy meal burger. I don't know what they named it but I bet that was one of the most common responses ... and that wasn't what they wanted to hear.
In my mind I'm seeing Burger King delivering outdated whoppers to the Doritos factory where they'll be ground into the mix, They'll have impossible burgers for those who don't eat meat :)
A number of you who do not recognize the possibility this goes well seem to be under the mistaken impression that whoppers themselves taste bad. Let me assure you they do not.
There's a convenience store by my house that has all kinds of Korean chip flavors like BBQ ribs chips and spaghetti and meatball chips. and they're really good
Doritos knows their intended audience: Id Est, people who buy their product for the taste and price. <3 Love me some cool Ranch Doritos dusted on veggies. Got to get good stuff in the human body despite my inner child.
This reminds me of when Pringles made that pizza flavour... That was just awful, like one of the worst flavours they ever made... I still devoured the entire pack but it was absolutely not good!
Sounds about right. I remember back in the mid-2000s when Lays put out a fish and chips flavour here in the UK. I was addicted to them and was gutted when they discontinued them. I picked them up during a brief revival in 2018 or something... Wow, they were not good. Teen me had awful taste 🤣
These annoyed me at the time because chips are fried potatoes and crisps are fried potatoes, so that cancels out. They may as well have called them fish crisps, and no one wants fish crisps. I was overthinking, but I stand by my position on this.
If I could remember the taste for 17 years ago, I would know for sure. I'm just chocking it up to teenagers generally having terrible taste in food compared to adults 🤣
Shit, really? I'm in the UK and I saw them for the first time maybe 6 years ago. It was the first time in my 25 years on this planet I had EVER seen them them anywhere...
put them in your whopper then blend that whopper into a paste... use the paste to make chips then put them into another whopper and repeat infinitely... burger-ception
I special ordered Doritos Taco flavor, the OG.
I thought they had cancelled it because you only ever see Nacho flavor. No. They're made close by. Why does no one carry them?
Who knows?!
Hope you enjoyed it.
I am " I watched BK actually flame grill burgers " old. If they taste like those, this could be interesting. The modern day version sucks ass flavor wise. Microwaves do that to meat.
Well I rarely by burgers any more, but back when I did, BK's Whopper was my favorite, and still is. I'd give them a try if they fell in my lap but not go out of my way to try them. I am thinking getting the Flame Broiled Whopper taste to translate to a corn chip is a really hard thing.
If it's anything like the Doritos Late Night Cheeseburger flavour, it's going to be ... interesting. I had them. They do taste like a cheeseburger ... which may or may not be a good thing to your palate when placed in the context of a nacho chip.
I worked in the downtown area of a test market city for new potato chip flavors years ago. They would hand out samples, and people would show up at the office with 5 "BOLD NEW FLAVOR" varieties. New is not always good. Bold is especially not always good.

They’re going to suck
Free whopper when you buy a large menu? What?
Some countries use the word "menu" in place of "meal".
That being said I'm definitely curious. I would give them a try.
And where do you live?

I'm happy *this one* worked out for you.
