She booted Biden because he was cruising to a crushing defeat that would be reflected in Congressional results. If Biden was 100 years old and set for a +10 point win over Trump, she would have backed him.

The timing also tells me they were worried about state filing dates for the ballot and 12th amend. If he had died after the ballot deadlines but before the election, the 12th amendment basically dictates trump would have won w/out contest. constitutionally Kamala could not win the prez in that sitch

If he died after he won the election, Kamala also could not become the president constitutionally. It would be trump or Stein or libertarian w/Kamala as VP since she duly won her election.

And since the filing deadlines were before DNC convention a contested convention was not possible this time.
