Gwyneth Paltrow and Alex Jones have made $$$$ selling bullshit remedies to people who do not trust the medical establishment. Scammers and quacks have a huge economic interest here.
scammers and quacks don't move the needle like 3M or monsanto or exxonmobile do, though, the beneficiaries of the normal sorts of long-term GOP policy goals
Scammers and quacks are running the executive branch right now. They may not have moved the needle in the past but those are zookeeper concerns and the monkeys are now running the zoo
They want to kill us. It’s that simple. They want suffering. This is so they can hold power over us. They want us beaten down so that we end up begging them for basic needs. Power.
there's always an economic angle to everything Republicans have ever done, though. It's all in the interest of making someone or some small group of people richer, be it through military policy or social policy or whatever. This does the opposite!
dr oz and his wellness product grift, jr's very profitable non-profit childrens health defense grift that sold infant onsies with the graphic "no vax no problem", the frivolous litigation it undertakes, the predatory bank made off of vaccine mis/disinformation boggles
Isn't the Republican interest "The rubes will vote for us if we promise to get rid of the thing they are scared of"? And then once they get voted in they can enrich their buddies.
Like, even if they didn't immediately cash in on it, they're certainly profiting now from getting the Joe Rogan crowd on their side in the last election.
I think RFK is just the avatar of what once was a pretty fringe belief that gained a ton of support during Covid. I don't know how truly relevant they are to what we would classically consider The Republicans.
It could just be the bone Trump, who cares about nothing, threw to the base.

I still can’t get over the folks worried there are trackers in them and constantly post about not wanting to be tracked.
It could just be one of those things linked to ignorance and fear. Once someone is afraid, all logic is irrelevant.
That's obv been Kennedy's angle.
It could just be the bone Trump, who cares about nothing, threw to the base.
But it’s not really about making someone money. It’s just a wedge issue in a society with a lot of misinformation.
