He's mad cause he thought now that he's in shape, he thought he'd have women falling all over him, but turns out his "WOMEN DON'T REVOLVE THEIR LIVES AROUND ME!" incel energy is still repelling them.
And most likely giving off creep vibes. I wonder if he has any interests out side of the gym, work and talking into an echo chamber. Like go learn how to dance and meet people with a view to being friends. See how stuff changes.
I met my now-husband at a party. He's talking, but I can't hear him because my brain's screaming, "HE'S SO HOT!"
I actually told him, sorry, I need you to repeat all of that. I couldn't hear anything because you're so gorgeous. But it's cool, I can hear you now. 😂😂😂
I can’t imagine complimenting a stranger on major weight loss. I don’t know anything about them - they could have cancer, or maybe someone close to them died and it fucked them up. I would never want complete strangers to compliment me on such a thing either.
Eh, given the setting, it feels like a reasonable assumption that this was both an intentional reduction of weight and presumably happened over a while.
Yeah cuz if women even ook at a guy he thinks it's an opening. Imagine complimenting one on their looks 😬. And I doubt ever single guy said anything either 😂😂
A woman complimented me on my gym progress last week. Absolutely made my day, and made me feel strong and attractive for the first time in...a while. Men should work to create an environment where women feel like they can safely do this.
100% Unless we’re close friends I am NOT making any comments on your body. On the off chance you’re losing weight for the women, I would suggest doing it for YOU, not anyone else
Amount of attention I give to random dudes at the gym: zero.
The only time I ever notice them is if they're on a machine I want and then I leave them alone and do something else until it's available. The last thing I'm going to do is take an interest in their weight.
He feels that there was a contract: He had to hit some arbitrary ideal weight or Abs Level, and then women would want him. When he leveled up and the video game did not, in fact, spit out a girlfriend for him, he felt he had been LIED to!!
The real question is who told this lie in the first place?
So true! And yet, since these dudes are going to those places to intentionally get sexual and romantic attention, they think it's UNFAIR for other people to be there for a different reason.
Right? I simply smiled at a guy who was waiting for me to finish wiping down and machine and he started chatting me up. I told him I’m sorry but I’m happily married and he got so upset. He called me a tease and told me I shouldn’t smile. That’s the first time a man has told me not to smile. 🙄
Why is he expecting random women (ie strangers) to validate him?
(Also I guarantee if a woman he didn't find hot commented on his new size, he would get mad.)
If the women aren't saying anything, how can he be so sure they've "noticed this in spades?" Isn't it possible they're simply doing their own thing & not paying attention to some random guy who happens to be in the same space?
Heh, reminds me of when I was in Tate Modern looking at art. My hair was bright red. A woman walked up to me and whispered in my ear "I like your hair"
I heard "you're here"
It took me hours to workout what she said. I thought it was some surreal threat.🤣🤣
I had a guy start talking at me at the gym this week and I blinked at him for a moment before asking "do I know you?" And he was like, "well we've been working out at the same time for a year." Nope, still don't know you.
I'm barely tracking my own progress in the gym never mind anyone else's. I pay zero attention to other people there, have no clue who is or isn't a regular.
Some of us won't smile at you, either. Because so many of you take it as a come-on. And get really nasty when they find out it wasn't. Believe me when I tell you, we compliment our partners, lavishly sometimes. But a strange guy? It's risky.
As a dude myself, I can confirm that this is 100% true until you get mature/experinced enough to know better. If a girl so much as smiles at a young/unexperienced guy, he'll think she might like him. Some of us eventually learn that a compliment is only a compliment.

Sudden, abrupt weight loss is rarely a good/healthy thing.

And most men are extremely bad at reading between the lines.
Men are perfectly capable of both complimenting other men
So you see the conundrum.
I am increasingly of the opinion that if we are going to have to live in an SF dystopia, I would vote for Sheri S Tepper's Women's Country over Gilead
Men routinely understand their bosses. They accept they have to.
It’s not gender, it’s perceived hierarchy.
People with more privilege on an axis often choose to ignore subtext, and claim those with less are incomprehensible.
I’m happy to agree that neurodivergence can affect social awareness.

Heh they should release a bear in the gym so the women can compliment it on its glossy coat and kind eyes.

Random compliments are lovely,
I knew a bloke who thought every lady shop assistant was enchanted by his personality. 🙄
I do believe that some men commented.
But then, I'm an old male fag smoking pot.
Did you bring cookies?
You got more row to hoe, bro.
