If you see a lot of folks replying to posts with a 📌 emoji it’s because they’re using this feed. It’s essentially a bookmark! Reply with the emoji and it pulls the post into your own private feed and saves it there for you!

It's actually (IMO) an ugly and intrusive quick fix for bookmarking which should be removed asap.

But I don't judge, if you like dozens of red pushpins in the replies that's cool.

There’s a workaround that I love! It’s a moderation you can subscribe to!! Basically you report a post as a bookmark and these posts will be saved to a dedicated “bookmarks” feed

I'm using browser based bookmarking in Firefox & using Mozilla Firefox as a client instead of any app(s), for both Bluesky & TwitterX. I already have indexed & nesting bookmarks.
It's possible to replace all the social media apps with browser navigation after all, while retaining more user control.

This is another way. It's not perfect but you can use the Bookmark it DM system- it is more private.

Worked around it for now by setting up a second account and using the "Send via DM" option. Not as convenient, but it does force me to include a note as to why I'd bookmark it in the first place

Initially planned to make a 2nd account to which I could DM my "bookmarks" but Matt, here, offered this up and I figure it can't be any more public than the gigantic red pushpin! Works for me AND he hopes to return them back to us with some programming when it's possible.
