The thing is though, even if a Senator is Republican, he still represents the Democrats in his state, as well as independents and people who didn't vote. They all have the right to come to these town hall meetings and demand that he does his job representing their interests.
Exactly! They may have been elected by their Rethuglican constituents, but they’re supposed to represent ALL people in their District! They seem to have forgotten that fact.They need to be reminded how exactly democracy works! They also seem to forget that they work for us,not the other way around!
People in the district are constituents regardless of party affiliation. In my neighborhood there are trump stalwarts who are disappointed and regretting their vote .
Even if true, Democrats are part of "we the people" and are part of the constituency of these districts. How contemptible to think that Republican lawmakers only represent Republican voters.

The last time I checked, Democrats and Independents were Americans, just like Republicans and deserved the right to speak to their elected representatives.
