I miss meteorological definitions of seasons. Winter use to mean, in my neck of the woods, "whenever the snow sticks on the ground for months", and it started early to mid-November and ended sometime in April. It's not even guaranteed to happen at all anymore. 😭❄️ Mais où sont les neiges d'antan?

Don't let astronomers define winter! This used to be winter when I was a kid, by which I mean "time at which the snow would stay on the ground until some time in April". Unfortunately, winter is dead, even in my hometown which had a perfect white Xmas record until last year.

Usually we see trees on top of cars the day after Thanksgiving. My dad has a potholder (a gift of years ago) with BAH HUMBUG embroidered on it. The first tree on a car is the sign for it to go into his front window. This year, he put it out the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
