360-era futuristic cover shooter made by the Yakuza Devs.
It has a voice command feature (that never worked for me), the dialogue is.. something, but the gameplay tries to shake itself up every so often and the boss battles are fun.
Other great and more likely to have flew under the radar is She Remembered Caterpillars! Neat little color matching puzzle game w a lot of personality and vibe
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
The Messenger
Nine Sols
Oddworld Abe's Oddysee a charming cinematic platformer that gets surprisingly brutal in it's representation of natural destruction and exploitation of workers for profit.
Nioh 2
Deep Rock Galactic
La-Mulana
Pentiment
Armored Core 6
The Talos Principle 1 and 2
Nine Sols
It a indie game with pixel art, and is very dark souls like.
The environmental storytelling is amazing btw.
(It came out in 2022, so not exactly new)
(my own review is on my pinned post for reference)

Signalis, Death's Door, Dandara, Dorfromantik just to name some others.
The campaign really starts slow though. Which is a shame because it's almost like playing a board game in the best way.

Tametsi is the best Minesweeper-like.
Cloudbuilt is a neat parkour experience with a lovely aesthetic.
Orb of Creation is the best incremental game (and doesn't require idling).
WitchWay is my favorite itchio exclusive, a neat and short puzzler.

The Summoner for the PS2
Crusader of Centy for the Genesis (available on Switch Genesis emulator)
(I'm kidding, but it's surprisingly a fun party game to play with a group after a few drinks.)
and if you never played prey 2017 or mooncrash... i finally played those and im smitten
RAM: Random Access Mayhem is a cool roguelike where you control the enemies, super satisfying, "Ultrakill-esque" (which is also amazing if you haven't played it)
Nine Sols rules, Hollow Knight with Sekiro parries
HOWEVER, Another Crab’s Treasure is a big step up and I’ve honestly had a blast with that one.
Buckshot Roulette?
World of Horror?
Mini Motorways?
Wavetale?
Gnosia?
Also it’ll be your intro the great lineage of Starbreeze/Machine Games that takes you to this year’s Indiana Jones 👀
To name a few lol :3
color me intrigued!
still intrigued!
its very likely just huge nostalgia but to me its still fun even today
Also Onimusha 3. I mean, Jean Reno killing demons in Ancient Japan? Dumb fun.
i think it's a really interesting example of how gameplay can serve the story
i always thought gameplay had to be fun or engaging all the time, otherwise it has failed its purpose. this game has proven me wrong
