Subtitles can put people off and often aren't that accurate.
I do find subtitles often don't actually translate accurately, and can, like texts, leave out so much. I don't really know the answer.
Automatic subtitles use the same tech as automatic dubbing for translation anyway.
Translation is a human being's job.
