Bomberman 64 and it's sequel are to this day still my fave Bomberman games

The story was decent
The gameplay really worked in 3d and even found a fun way to integrate platforming for a character who canonically can't jump lol

and that's actually what got me to... care about Bomberman as a franchise and then promptly go back to not caring in the future. None of them grabbed me quite like Bomberman 64 or Second Attack did, and I've tried several since.

there are in fact platforms and jumping mechanics (you can bounce off bombs if you drop onto one and is in fact required for full completion)

I wanna see the Bomberman 64 series come back the way the Super Bomberman series came back when Konami made Super Bomberman R. Except have Bomberman 64 R directly follow up after my favorite N64 title Bomberman 64 The Second Attack.

this was an interesting read, I might sound like a jerk but I think it's a misconception that Bomberman is about trapping your opponents, it's moreso about kill confirms, when all soft blocks are gone and most players have punch or kick trapping them is not exactly super viable

Generally in multiplayer pursing your opponent is an easy way to die, you want to fight or pressure them from a distance, I believe the skill ceiling and learning curve of Bomberman is too much for many people so they tend to die by simpler means or early in a match, speaking on battle mode at least
