That reminds me of a Hollywood executive who thought Lorry Driver must be a really reliable bit part actor because he was in all British films before someone pointed out a lorry driver is what is called a truck driver in the US.
He used to be a so slow that creating one single frame took him literal minutes more than a decade ago which is why he was only used in movies and not in games. Glad to see him pick up pace to be welcomed into gaming.
Ray tracing is like a maintenance guy at a football stadium that gets paid the same as the star player. He makes the place look really nice, but nobody is buying tickets because of what he does, and he uses a ton of resources to do it.

Turns out he was just tracing.
Actually, the bouncing one is called caustics and Ray tracing helps immensely for all the bouncing and self reflection.
