Honestly I only drink tea because I can put a shit load of sugar in it without anyone looking at me funny, or drink coffee.
Coffee sucks and it's weird to put sugar in water
Have you tried the espesso maker? It makes tea taste like bath water. /j
In all seriousness, I mainly drink sweet iced tea and coffee other than water. But I completely understand why some people aren't fans of bitter tea. I always need sugar or honey in mine.
Tea, coffee and kola nuts have caffeine and make most folks feel better, so similar cultures have grown up around each one.
People without genetic sensitivity to bitterness are especially blessed.
If you judged coffee by drinking the instant powdered kind, you'd have to say even worse about it.
Tea and tea bag are different drinks.
Many drinks called tea are not tea because they don't come from the 'Camillia sinensis' plant. Things made of other plant leaves are 'not tea'.
Good tea leaves actually has a bit of sugar in it by default, but it's pretty subtle in a good way. Also yes, practically very slightly sweet scent water, but when you drink some good tea leaves where it smells like berries and other fruity stuffs without the actual extra sweetness it's super good.
I mean, chamomile tea helps me sleep.. other teas have health related benefits. Generally, Green Tea is a good source of antioxidants. Then for specefics, there's Peppermint for fevers, Ginger for nausea, Hibiscus for blood pressure... there's a tea for everything.
Depends if you are describing tea, the refreshingly flavoursome and bracing brewed product of the Camellia sinensis (Tea Plant) or the herbal infusion that has become commonly described as a tea.
It’s all fine, until you forget it’s been steeping for… how long?… and then that first first sip is like razor wire on your tongue or you faint from an overdose of “nature’s medicine.”
Same! I heard people who like strong flavors can't really taste the more subtle teas flavors. Thankfully I found a lovely hibiscus tea I can actually taste!
The fact that don’t have to add as much stuff to it to make it taste good, unlike in coffee, where you have to put a shitload of stuff in to taste it through the bitterness
I never drink my coffee with a "shitload of stuff" it's just coffee and cream. I don't get why people act like coffee is the most bitter substance known to man.
We probably have different ideas of what “tasting good” is then, cuz I was thinking of sweetness (a mild sweetness specifically) when I said that, I probably could’ve worded that better tho lol
Coffee really shouldn't be overwhelming bitter. A little for flavor is normal but if it is astringent, toss the pot, clean the maker, and start again. Too many people never clean their equipment and the oils deposit and go rancid.
Thing is that I am very put off by bitter tastes in general, especially that of which that typically comes with coffee.
My idea of making it taste better is by sweetening it and drowning out most if not all of the bitterness, and with the milder flavors that tea has, it’s much easier to sweeten
Also just the process of making coffee in general is kinda annoying imo, whereas with tea I just boil some water, throw a teabag in, and chill until it steeps and cools to a tolerable temperature
I will admit that I prefer black tea over coffee. I don't add milk or sugar to either. But usually if I am drinking coffee it is with a pastry.
Making coffee can be a chore depending on the method. Sometimes I think they just want it to feel like a mad scientist chemistry set.
get better coffee and it can taste just like tea alone. Have had some coffees that are light as black tea and some roasted teas that were dark and deep flavored like coffee
It's nice to drink hot things, but there aren't that many hot drinks. Sometimes you don't wanna make broth, don't want a bunch of caffeine from coffee and don't want the sugars of cocoa. So you make tea.
Green Tea makes my whole body warm up and relax. I'm sure that there's no actual healing properties to green tea but I can't deny it makes me feel great everytime I drink it
There's a peach tea herbal blend that legitimately helps me eat food and function. Some herbal blends are good for gut health and other functions. (Though I probably commit blasphemy by cold-steeping them)

Now I really appreciate the subtlety of it! I don’t drink it all the time, but there are rare occasions where I’ll crave how light it is.
I mostly drink Coffee, though.
It tastes way better than coffee at the very least~
Good soup 👌

(It's kinda weird, help)
it has flavour too 🥺
Tea is simple to make & it is soothing, calming, warming regardless of the mood you are in! 😍🫖🍵
I am so affronted by this sentiment in your tweet, I'm almost tempted to block you! 🫣
Herbal teas, now.. some have value but it is mostly placebo.
But don't discount the power of the placebo.
Some days I drink coffee, but other days I drink tea for a less intense experience.
It's definitely about more than just flavor, but the flavor is relevant, too. I can drink plain water, but prefer water with something else in it.
(I love tea)
Dis joke pls no hurt
You're a brave skeeter
I believe there are a lot of English people on here...we worship the pot
Also, honey helps. And maple syrup.
They cannot comprehend our intractable stupidity and obstinate disobedience.

(This is funny to me bc my mum actually makes Greens Juice which is just the water Greens are cooked in. Rather healthy, actually)
and tea brings aroma and a slightly flavour, that feels nice
