This is one of the main points to understand about the case against preemptive pardons: many people for whom they are intended do not want one.

I say that, actually, as someone who may very well be on his hit list. After all, he owes E. Jean Carroll $88.3 million in no small part because of me.
I’d rather fight than take a pardon. But I do understand why others may vehemently disagree, and I don’t take offense at their harsh replies.

A fund is definitely in order. It should include funding for personal security and small stipends. It should also include money for PR campaigns to educate Americans about what’s happening.
Still, would leave it to the individual.
I hear your thoughts on why you won’t take a pardon! Will work for whistleblwrz❣️
If the Court declares Biden pardons overly broad, Trump also loses that power.
So adding flames to any fire about your behaviour, that no doubt would be fanned on social media.
A difficult and probably expensive balancing act.
1) even if your given a pardon, didn't it only really come into effect if you assert it in a court case?
2) you said Joe lied because he said he wouldnt give Hunter a pardon but do you have proof of this? Do you have proof he always intended...
Trump’s DOJ will harass whom ever Trump instructs them to, regardless of any pardons
Simultaneously, A pro-bono Antifa Defense fund should be started for those brave and able enough to fight evil
However, with this crowd, you never know.
I guess I’d hope that before making public announcements, they’d discretely offer folks pardons and give them the option to quietly and with no fanfare decline or accept.
The idea of Trump's DOJ tying up his admin going after the hundreds of media he hates in different cases is crazy stupid business and limits assets to anything else.
There is due process, lengthy case work etc..
DOJ staff will slow play this and be extra careful on how they bring charges.
As a matter of fact… there is a famous Supreme Court case that ruled the issuance of a Pardon doesn’t necessarily dictate forced acceptance of said pardon!
But pardons for people 47 hates who have committed no crimes, is like obeying in advance. Don't give him the power to make us cower.
Trump misused it bigly.
Biden did not. IMHO
But it is a big deal for people who cannot afford to face legal battles and probable prison time or who feel they shouldn't have to face them.
“When the people fear the government, that's tyranny; when the government fears the people, that's freedom.”
George thank you

Marcy Wheeler has a good piece on this as well.

No street cred for hypotheticals, even if they are telegraphed. As we lament for those targeted, remember that we, as one nation, did this to them.
