This is one of the main points to understand about the case against preemptive pardons: many people for whom they are intended do not want one.

I say that, actually, as someone who may very well be on his hit list. After all, he owes E. Jean Carroll $88.3 million in no small part because of me.

I’d rather fight than take a pardon. But I do understand why others may vehemently disagree, and I don’t take offense at their harsh replies.
