Obsessed with Sci-Fi! Chronically ill, dynamically disabled, holding on by a thread. I use Sci-Fi to keep me grounded and centered. It almost always works.

They can live 2-4 years. Some have lived longer, almost 10 years. That's why I am tracking his age! I am going to submit him, as a case study, to Cornell when he passes away.

His beak was stuck open half a cm. We were afraid he wouldn't make it. We didn't see him for 2 weeks, and he'd lost mass. But the swelling had gone down and over the course of a year, his beak closed to the point in the photo. He and his mate still live on our property. This photo was taken Feb 8!

Then spoke to him and stroked him and he lay there dazed. He finally sat up in her hands and looked in her face for a few minutes. Got some sense and flailed out of her hands onto the roof. She sat talking to him for 10 minutes until he could fly to a nearby tree. His head was extremely swollen

This is Beaky. He's a Nuthatch, at least 5 years old, and part of a science observation I'm doing. In June 2020, he flew into our picture window. My daughter, 12 at the time, was out the window and onto the roof in a flash. She held him and stroked him while he was unconscious🧵

Have you heard of first sleep and second sleep? It's how we slept from the first written word. Entire human history before the industrial revolution. I no longer resist my middle of the night wake ups.

Or if it had been written by somebody with depression with nssi tendencies. Or if someone with nssi has been asked. I love that Star Trek explores these topics in a mainstream light. Sometimes tho, I also wish someone with intimate knowledge of the topic were involved.

It also bothered me that he was much more concerned about how she wasn't as excited as he wanted about his project. Only within that context did he notice she wasn't herself. And she hadn't been herself for months.

Chakotay trusted her. She proved to herself that she matters. She will heal slowly now. She'll probably self-injure for a short while, to help her ease feelings back in but she has a family that is curious and caring. Trek is amazing for healing trauma. Shrinks should take notice!

I love being held accountable and growing. I did NOT love it when I was young. I don't want to hurt people if I can avoid it. Just say it with respect. Even if there is anger and hurt, just speak with respect!

Sad facts right here. I've managed to find some inner child since then!!

My parents were die-hard Christian Republicans and railed hard when Walmart came here. They were making the same arguments for our local businesses and farms. Destroyed the area, and they were *still* scoffed at.

I tell my husband whenever I leave my house. Not because he cares where I go; I could take a road trip 2 states over, and he wouldn't care. If something happens to me, I wanna be found. 😔 Why do we have to live like this?

FAMILY SCAPEGOAT🙋♀️ Best feeling ever going no contact! They cut off me bc I called out everything! Either way, I could start healing once the noise stopped. Congrats on your own healing journey. Breaking generational shit is hard work!

Nobody sees my art. Who does it matter to? Kinda rhetorical, kinda not.

Grew up in the "Christian" church. PK. 5 churches. They were all varying levels of hypocrisy. Not humans doing their best....That's different; I've been to churches like those. The churches I grew up in were full of thinly veiled contempt for everyone, not white/male. I left Christianity at 21.

I drive a light blue Honda crv. There'll be 5 in a row at the market, so I put some stickers on mine so I know it from any angle! 🤣🤣😅 I did this after I set off somebody else's car alarm.

I know it's not a healthy sign... But I kinda like Mother Nature off her meds. I feel like it's the only way people are gonna learn. Maybe I'm jaded.
