The DEI’s ?

It's staggering how fast democracy in the USA has imploded. My only hope is that it will act as a warning to all the rest of us and we'll be alert to the damage done by the political con artists in society. It really is time to join @greenparty.org.uk and combat the lies.

Wise man…

JD Vance is so nauseatingly unlikeable that he’s literally dragging down the AfD’s approval rating

@mrhenrymorris.bsky.social All I time I thought you were a hilarious genious with a vivid imagination. I now find out you were transcribing! bsky.app/profile/rent...

Joe Haines has died, aged 97. The Labour Parry will release a statement shortly on a son of a London docker who was Harold Wilson’s press secretary twice as well as a Daily Mirror distinguished political journalist

If Brexit had never happened… …we’d be much wealthier, with more investment in public services, better trade - and with our parliament & govt having spent the last decade doing far more productive things. 🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺

We can't outspend Sieg Heil Elon - but we desperately need more firepower. Please, if you don't want to see his values dominate in the UK, help us fight back: goodlawproject.org/donate/

This shit doesn’t happen in France and I’ll tell you why: the rich went too far once and they cut all their heads off and now, when those in power fuck workers over, the French stop working. Don’t forget your real power Americans. They don’t let you have unions for a reason.

I was doing some shifts at Broadcast magazine in 1984, when it was announced. Had to ring round old soap producers to get their reaction. I WISH I could remember who said surely the main characters would just sell up for a fucking fortune and move to Essex. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s important to remember there are almost 1500 recently pardoned insurrectionists out there feeling empowered and above the law ready to repay the President as a willing militia.

Pains me a bit to say it, but de Gaulle was right all along wasn't he. De Gaulle was right about the Americans and the Brits and Europe in the end.

Far from undercutting Reform's vote, Labour's performative cruelty is only going to power it.

Ooo this is a good one ☺️

Ketamine’s a helluva drug.

Did a computer go rogue or are you just a chump This 'tool' costs $200 a month, and if you're willing to outsource your thinking to a machine you deserve to get ripped off $32 for 12 eggs, lol

destructors /destructed I think we need a completely different vision of caretaking, stewardship and long term hope, not this reactive zero-sum defensive crouch

From what I can see, since Sue Gray was replaced by Morgan McSweeney the government's comms operation has got less chaotic and more stupid.

“Palantir, the secretive US spy tech company that the UK government has contracted to organise NHS data and it has just deepened its connections with Elon Musk.” mailchi.mp/anothereurop...

Skynet is waking up and it's hungry for scrambled eggs

In the last two academic years, 2022/2024, at least 17,600 jobs have been lost in UK Higher Education. 2024/2025 is set to be far worse. Had this been any other industry there would be outrage and gov action. As ever, young people don't count and neither do university workers. Labour doesn't care.

Magadeth

It's not a demolition site it's a mass grave. It's not a demolition site it's a crime scene. It's not a demolition site its a homeland. It's not a demolition site it's Palestine. It's not a demolition site it's a genocide.

I think we can already award the prize for stupidest Labour MP’s policy proposal. “That thing that destroyed three Tory governments, the thing that if we did it would wreck our economy, let’s do that, in a doomed effort to pose as a knock-off Nigel Farage.”

You know what? The EU & UK should put tariffs on US goods (from red states) in solidarity with Canada and Mexico. Rather than watching others get bullied and waiting our turn - we should unify against this bullying until the bully drops that behaviour.

The Labour leadership has growth on the brain, so irrational behaviour is to be expected.

If, in five years, Labour goes the way of the US Democrats and the UK elects a populist, far-right government, every UK media editor who gave Farage a platform and every UK journalist who failed to challenge him or confront him with his lies will share responsibility.

The reason you are having a bad time is the same reason people always have a bad time. Because the rich are taking a disproportionate fraction of resources. And the reason you think it’sthe people who don’t look like you who are the cause is because the rich are telling you that.

i’m very open to ChatGPT having some utility. but a few times for If Books Could Kill i’ve asked ChatGPT to aggregate existing sources of criticism for a book. what it produces are without fail almost entirely hallucinations. and not just one, i mean lists of 5-6 articles that do not exist.

Just needed to double check - and yes, Kemi Badenoch really did just say that we don’t need evidence - that anecdotes and personal feelings will do just fine instead. Scary times #bbclaurak

“The “X” moderation team became a tool for [the Trump-Musk] agenda. We enforc[ed] the rules when it suited us and ignor[ed] them when it didn't. Musk himself was deeply involved in this. The interference has now spread to Germany & other Euro nations.” theconcernedbird.substack.com/p/elon-musks...

Free "modest proposal" for Denmark. Call Trump's bluff. Demand $100B as a downpayment for negotiations over Greenland. Then use it to start hiring all the scientists whose NIH grants have been frozen. Steal America's scientific expertise while Trump is yelling at icebergs.

Several people (cancel your NYT sub?) asking who wrote this parcel of bollocks. It's - drumroll - THIS guy:

Thirty days has September, April, June, and November, All the rest have thirty-one, Save January 2025 The longest amount of days anyone has ever been alive
