Dandy has *got to be* a distant relative of Jorts. I think it’s the pinchable cheeks and expression

“Cute aggression” is a thing
And it’s a statistical fact that 11 out of 10 cats have been non-consensually cuddled in their lifetimes.

3 1/2 what? Hours? Days? Weeks? Months? Points drop on stock market?
I’m not being facetious. With trump it’s a valid question as any of those answers are possible.

Jorts, when Bastet is feeling like some some acoustic amusement she deliberately pulls on the door stop (the wire coil kind) to make “sproing” noises. Again and again and again lol.
Don’t suppose you have one of those to try?

This is one of those tales I hesitate to read to my cat Bastet lest she get ideas but I try to frame it as a “teachable moment” and not “giving Bastet ideas”
You’re an ongoing source of education in my house Jorts. For labour practices *and* garbage incident etiquette

Until the USA deals with the 1/3 of their population that enabled trump, that’s a NO on joining Canada. We have enough of our own problems; we’re not looking to adopt more.

Problem is, they’re Russian.
comment in response to

Oh look. Another fig leaf, this time to cover his absolute subjugation to Russia.
Russia is already under heavy sanctions & trump doesn’t say he’ll release funding & intelligence to Ukraine again.
Just toothless sanctions.
Is *anyone* folles by this?

Love this new slogan.
We Canadians have kinda been waiting for some strong response from all the people telling us “we didn’t vote for this” & how horrified they are, but Dems showed up @ SotU with ping pong paddles?!
Are they FRFR?? Someone I’ve barely heard of is now my US hero. Al Green.
comment in response to
post
Sorry. Tariffs dont discriminate. This has to pinch all USians so they’ll get on their reps to *fix* this and not just hold up ping pong paddles at SotU.
We’re waiting to see protests, general strikes, and impeachment / article 25 talk.
So far, not a lot to be impressed by ya know?
comment in response to

Oh? Not “governor Trudeau” now that the retaliatory tariffs have kicked in Donny?

Whether you’re a maga sympathizer or a troll, end result is the same.
And the bully is your dictator wanna-be president. The fact you’re accusing others instead is very in brand for some USians these days.
Can’t take responsibility & have to attack everyone else.
Bye 🧌

Which ones? I’ll happily go take a look and see if anyone noticed or commented on the “absolute silence”

We blame trump’s 1/3 voters & partially to the 1/3 who didn’t bother to vote/voted 3rd party *knowing* the danger
Even “allies” continue to joke about 51st state or how 🇨🇦 would be 50something blue electoral college votes. We don’t find it funny & have asked for it to stop. Some can’t. Or won’t

Thank you. I just posted asking if Al Green was the only one to stand up for what’s right (as I’m not USian and not a masochist so I obv didn’t watch)

As a long time student of English who sweat blood to get my masters, I wish my final paper had been this eloquent.

As part of retaliatory tariffs, Canada is withdrawing its unspoken consent for any USian to hide behind our flag while traveling.

1/3, having lived through his first administration, didn’t bother to vote. Or voted third party. Therefore assisting in putting him in office
NO ONE should be in denial that their vote or lack thereof was an indirect vote for him. It was screamed from the rooftops for a year
Silence is complicity

I was absolutely referring to after that squatter is removed from your White House.
I agree he’s going to have to be forcefully evicted. 14th amendment, article 25 or general strike causing impeachment.
I don’t see them doing it yet. There’s not enough pressure from the 2/3 who put him in office

I think if we (anyone) moves toward mandatory voting, online voting has to be sorted out. & better access (day off, etc)
USians don’t even trust mailed votes so I’m not sure they’d ever trust on line, but with their voter suppression & interference, I guess I don’t blame them.

Our voting turnout sucks too. But we also don’t have the threat of Round Two of Mango Mussolini.
Even if our maga lite candidate got “elected as PM” he wouldn’t have the same power as a US president. We vote in a party, the party picks the leader. & he can be fired outside an election cycle.

In less than a month, Canadians developed several apps to identify US products so we don’t accidentally buy them. From soup to soap to socks, we’re buying Canadian, or at least “ABA” (anything but American)
Tariffs will still hurt us in supply chain but not so much via direct spending. So let’s go

A gentle reminder: 1/3 of USians enabled him to enter the WH by not voting even knowing what was at stake.
So 2/3s of USians made this happen. I’m sorry the remaining 1/3 has to suffer as well.

They still think a polite, slow to anger Canadian = doormat
Makes me want to tell them to read the history on why the Geneva convention is as long as it is 😂
My grandfather used to say “Canadians are nice, but when the puck drops, we’re ready to fight”

You notice the protest in turkey wasn’t at a hockey game where the opposition was singing their anthem either, so how TF would our silence even be noticed??
I’m tired of them “suggesting” we protest in ways that make them comfortable or benefit them, like the EC votes suggestion

Being gentile and quiet didn’t do your democrats any good, did it?
& the comments of being D’s 50whatever blue electoral votes if annexed doesn’t give us the warm & fuzzies either
Canada’s done being quiet & compliant
And it’s not our democracy on the line. So yes, we’ll protest how we see best

We know there’s USians and then there’s USians. But the constant defensive comments & whataboutism we’re getting when we say we’re tired of the jokes & no we don’t want to be your 50 blue electoral votes is exhausting.

As a Canadian I truly appreciate that. I’ve had someone tell me USians are allowed to make 51st state jokes, even after we’ve asked nicely not to because it’s hurtful, because they “have it worse & need something to laugh at”
We’re not feeling strong allyship ya know?
