If I had 2 weeks to spend on Amtrak, I'm sure I'd love it.
comment in response to post
I'd rather spend a 5 hour flight across the US standing than taking 4 nonstop days on Amtrak. Your comment seems like Nimbyism, if someone wants to pay for this than why not?

Grace doesn't mean amnesia, just want to avoid the circular firing squads.
comment in response to post
Maybe grace for all who are trying to adapt to the world in real time could be in order? Just a thought.

Clearly the OP didn't show the sender for a reason.

Intern in 2019, now what 27-28 years old. Let's not go down this road. Kids are allowed to have an interesting resume without being tarnished as guilt by association when they grow up. The NY times is right to hire people based on their capabilities rather than ideology.

"I know why" was standard high school curriculum when I was a student in the 90s. Now we can't entrust Naval Academy Cadets to it? And people wonder why kids are taking longer to grow up these days.

Yeah... There's a lot of future IP to be made off of this one.

That's a really nice study and a good Saturday read. Thanks!

Well fair ... But just passing the bill first would be nice. Then hold the debt ceiling hostage.

Fewer than 10 people could decide to caucus with the Dems and stop this all tomorrow.

People hear the word 'vaccine' and think of 'measles' and diseases like that. But what Marks was spearheading was platform designations for future 'vaccines' that could cure cancer. The work must go on, but it might be time for it to move ex-US.
comment in response to post
Marks is a visionary who was helping the FDA prepare for a new era of genetic medicine... And like that, he's gone! Poof. What wreckage this administration is causing.

Went right to "I can read your mind" in my head.

Sen. Smith it seems like you and your colleagues are following a policy of intentional opacity in preventing constituents from knowing with any time in advance whether you plan to vote for this poison pill CR. I think this has implications beyond even this very important vote.

But, what if Dems just pretend it didn't happen? As best as possible, keep funding the Department of Education. Next Dem President, just name a Secretary of Education. Trump can declare what he wants, & regardless, while he's President he'll marginalize education. But so what? The EO is worthless.

But that is long ago.

I wish some of the Democrats had funny signs. A sign that says "Marble Mouth" when he babbles would be so much better than the ones they have.

Was just listening to Ezra Klein's newest podcast and thought back to the conversation. Definitely worth a listen... But one answer I was thinking about is that within 5 years, I bet some companies at least are using AI to write a full BLA. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/04/o...

Would you pay 5 million knowing that the next president could rescind your green card?

How on earth can they enforce any agreement in good faith? There is no good faith agreement possible from Donald Trump. The base negotiating position should involve JD Vance becoming president... As abhorrent as that sounds.

Good memory! But let's be honest, it was speed. Caffeine, she'd have been saturated and just had to pee a lot.

Exactly! It's medical-grade speed. Just ask Jessie Spano

I love this, and it undergirds a point I've been trying to make about people complaining about Democrats... Which I think is lunacy right now. We aren't facing a problem that can be solved by an alternative political party that literally has no power. This needs to be solved by THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
comment in response to post
You make it sound like the only thing standing between us and the abyss is a more effective and compelling floor speech from Chuck Schumer. That'll certainly convince Trump to change his ways!
comment in response to post
Why do people expect Democrats to save them? I don't get this... Democrats didn't vote Trump into the White House, Senate and House.
comment in response to post
There are 260 plus million adults in the US. A $5,000 check to each would cost $1.3 trillion. Exactly where would Trump get $1.3 trillion to pay that out?
comment in response to post
Yup

In Trump's case, the most qualified candidates are white men. Not to stereotype, but he's looking for MAGA Toadies.
comment in response to post
As a reminder, dei isn't in place to promote less qualified people... It's in place to remind the hiring managers that sometimes the most qualified candidates aren't white men.
