Selling billionaires the chance to personally loot Americans' social security checks is an excellent example of the Republican Party understanding exactly what product they're selling.

look at this stupidity and realize this isn't some bumpkin on the street but in fact the highest ranking democrat in the entire us senate.

Some thoughts on the growing billionaire demographic.

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill. Do not let anyone play games with you.

I’d like to ask every single New Yorker who’s remotely left of center to get actively involved in your local Democratic Party chapter with the goal of driving Schumer, Gillibrand, Hochul, Adams, Cuomo and all the other dead wood into retirement.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

Lots of "the article isn't making the point you think it is, how does this possibly normalize the bad shit we're surrounded by," and I'm gonna be real honest, people have got to start treating disingenuous clickbait outrage-farming headlines in newspapers as the malpractice they are

Everyone needs to stop calling them billionaires & call them robber barons. billionaire has a neutral connotation to many, the definition of robber baron is 'a person who has become rich through ruthless and unscrupulous business practices', that's what they are and that's what you should call them.

every single Republican in Congress is a massive cuck, never seen anything like this. we are in a constitutional crisis because these people are far more pathetic than the founding fathers could have ever imagined

Under fascism, no one is safe. Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc. Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations. Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

Found out that TWENTY emails is considered a lot to politicians on an issue. TWENTY. As in, they call that getting slammed. So next time you see a request to email your rep, or call, keep that in mind. TWENTY is a lot.

It's Pritzker and AOC who get it so far. Who else?

Funny to watch Piers Morgan and Tucker Carlson arguing about whether Putin or Zelenskyy is the bigger "dictator" while they're both sitting in *checks notes* Saudi Arabia.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

it’s so insane to me that people work for ICE like did you watch star wars and think man i want to be like the guys in the plastic white suits who can’t aim for shit

the reason gen z doesn’t care at all about “china having their data” is because gen z knows that the US government has collected their online activity data since they were born

just so we’re clear: the tiktok ban is because people were getting critical information about israel. that sparked a red scare about ~communist china propaganda influencing our youth~ which then became concerntrolling about datamining.

The thing is... it's not just the internet that's dying. Magazines are using AI. Game studios, movie directors. The UN has AI art on its walls. AI is being used to maximize the number of murders happening in Gaza. AI is death. It is death of culture, of humanity. It is the destruction of our planet

DAMMIT NPR. I spent nine months upgrading over TEN THOUSAND desktops at a F500 client. The grand total was over SEVENTY THOUSAND applications upgraded. Y2K "didn't live up to the hype" because the industry busted ass to duct tape everything first.

“hole in the ozone layer” levels of erasure. my mom was a project manager who busted her ass for years to make sure IBM was ready for Y2K and completely succeeded, only for it to get turned into a late night joke. funny how the stories of mass collective action to avoid disaster rarely get told

I can’t even complain that this is somehow what first appears when my name is Googled. I willed this into being. I did this. Alex did this. I have embraced the skibidi. And I feel so sigma.

There's a line of evolution of thought that goes from the very young and naive notion that this is just police doing their jobs, to the mature realization that this is the police abusing their authority by forcing people to jump through imaginary hoops. They want you to know your place.
