They’ll continue to act shamelessly and hypocritically regardless of any questions asked. That’s deeply baked into who they are.

A brutal read. Endless softballs by Douthat. Lots of deflection by JD.

All of this! I first stumbled into Camus in high school (45 yrs ago) when I read The Fall. I was hooked and read several other works in quick succession. During my 3 decades as a public defender, when despair and discouragement came easy, I was often buoyed by Camus’ brand of existentialism.

Dude handed Trump the office in 2016. A decent person would still be grateful.

Well, one reason for their lack of embarrassment may be that perhaps they’re not good faith actors?🤷🏼♂️

I keep changing the placement of the three names. Each option works! Well done!

This is soooo twisted.

Excellent! As someone who has read thousands of criminal complaints, it’s critical to bear in mind that complaints contain factual allegations. They may be skewed or false. They virtually always leave out important facts that cut against the prosecution’s case.

I’ve really tried to give ol’ Ross a chance, but he’s just too caged by his conservative biases to say anything interesting.

Conservatives applauded when Tommy Thompson abused the hell out if his “Vanna White” partial veto. What is sauce for the goose. . . .

It’s like when we imagine ourselves living in the feudal ages it’s always as a lord or lady, never a peasant dying of dysentery at the age of 13.

“ that’s how you get escalation”. How fucking tone deaf can a purportedly smart guy be?

I’ll be surprised if charges are filed. If he’d followed thru with his original plan, it’d be a pretty clear felony. Things got murky when he backpedaled. If you’re going to charge the world’s richest man, you want a slam dunk. They don’t have it.

I’m equally interested in the congressional maps.

I disagree. If he had followed through with his initial tweet, he’d clearly be committing a felony. After he listened to counsel and walked it back, a criminal violation became murky at best. Not a popular opinion here, but I’ve practiced criminal defense in Wisco for a long time.

The irony that Musk/Trump support the activist judge.

Bad move. Let him go through with it and then charge him with the Class I felony that it is.
comment in response to

The interesting question is whether he goes through with the plan. Even though he deleted the tweet, I think he sets himself up for criminal liability if he does.
comment in response to
post
No. He crossed a line and committed a felony. Someone got in his ear.
comment in response to

Just fyi. This offense is a class I felony. Punishable by up to 3 1/2 yrs and/or $10,000 fine. Let’s see if AG Josh Kaul has the stones to prosecute.

I’ve seen detectives lie to suspects (including at least one juvenile) about the results of dna tests. Despicable!

I’m as negative about this court as anyone, but I think only 2 will back Trump no matter how outrageous. I have some hope that Kavanaugh and Gorsuch have a line somewhere.

I wish AOC would primary either of NY’s feckless senators. Unfortunately, Schumer is up next in ‘28 and Gillibrand was just reelected. ☹️

No different than the Nader voters in 2000 or the Stein folks in 2016. It’ll be the same in 2028 (assuming we have a meaningful election). Dems are doomed by the purity police.

DOGE isn’t about efficiency and the federal budget. It’s all about gutting the agencies that rich guys don’t like.
