i rested my brain for a bit. and I'm choosing to think that the nos were genuine. i don't know if this makes sense, but if the nos were performative, then why were there 10 yeses instead of just the bare minimum of 7?

senator durbin you have betrayed my trust. passing this budget is exactly what trump & musk wanted. i am so incredibly disappointed and disheartened.

duckworth has tweeted no on cloture x.com/SenDuckworth...

is it safe to say that the senate is going to be voting on the budget at the last minute, like late tonight? i'm watching the senate floor live and they are many hours behind and voting a bunch on a lot of other bills...

this is exactly what i've been trying to tell people - we're avoiding the official shutdown when we're heading towards a permanent shutdown.

LET'S GO DUCKWORTH! @durbin.senate.gov, please join duckworth and your other colleagues in voting NO on cloture!

just saw @duckworth.senate.gov's twitter post saying she'll vote no on cloture!!! @durbin.senate.gov please join your colleague! Illinois is watching!

can you update this page with hirono and schatz?

@warnock.senate.gov you must vote no on cloture as well, or your no on CR will mean nothing! trump and vought are planning to ignore the CR and impound federal funds! please listen to the american people. no on cloture, no on CR, yes to a govt shutdown!

spitballing ideas to change this party to be less establishment: - schumer and all CR-cloture-yeses resign. - stop DNC donations as long as the CR-cloture-yeses remain. - replace DNC leadership. i don't know how we do this though.

warnock also posted no to CR but no mention of cloture

haven't been able to get through to durbin's DC office in days. the voicemail for the chicago office still works. duckworth also blueskyposted a no on the CR and no mention of cloture. we all know that this might mean a yes on cloture.
comment in response to post
it can't hurt, i guess? when the vote is over i don't want to regret not calling enough. if it hangs up, i fax them.
comment in response to post
ossoff's bluesky is confusing me. the image only mentions the CR, but the text also says no on cloture. bsky.app/profile/osso...
comment in response to post
durbin please inform your constituents: are you a yes or no on cloture for the CR?
comment in response to post
senator, please vote NO on cloture! a yes on cloture would basically be a yes on the CR. i have not been able to leave any voicemails and i had to fax your office.

i support asking schumer to resign. the american people deserve better leadership

unbelievable. is @schumer.senate.gov really going to help musk?

thank you from IL and GA

this makes NO SENSE chuck, are we reading the same CR?

hey josh, your article said that the Senate Dem's strategy is to "throw voters off the scent." Can you help me understand why on earth they'd do such a thing? You were smart enough to see through Schumer's seemingly strong statement but I still feel quite betrayed and frustrated.
