Went to school to be a journalist at the tail end of this run. Graduated and realized it was on the way out. I regret not sticking with it because I got paid garbage anyway.

In other words, we need tariffs because the Canadian government cares about it's people. (Quote below) www.bizjournals.com/boston/news/...

After searching for two years, researchers discovered the shipwreck of the Western Reserve, an early all-steel ship that broke apart in a gale in 1892, in Lake Superior.

Gutting the Department of Education will impact everything from internet access to school buses. Let’s not make it harder to learn.

“If Democrats are to become the party of abundance, they have to confront their own role in creating scarcity.”

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ? They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses. That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue. The cost of tariffs isn’t just the cost of the tariff

Not feeling great yet, you?

Bernie is on FIRE!🔥

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.

Brutal.

Waiting with bated breath for Federal Register reporting to resume. Perhaps there are 0 posts bcuz they meant to include the word “legal” between “every” and “action”.

For the US to side with Russia and North Korea to oppose a UN resolution condemning the illegal invasion of Ukraine defies all common sense and adds insult to the countless injuries suffered by the brave Ukrainian people. edition.cnn.com/2025/02/24/p...

You can’t divorce a candidate’s housing agenda from the broader context of why they’re running for office. It’s very clear that Josh Kraft is running for mayor to hand power back to the Good Ol’ Boys networks that Wu has challenged. Therefore, his calls for making housing more affordable ring hollow

‘You Can’t Let This Happen,’ Says Fundraising Email From Sitting U.S. Congressperson

"The new standards will create [a path] for market-rate, 4-story buildings with up to 9 units or 9,999 sqft in size that cover up to 70% of a lot. The city’s LMI housing reqs – 20% of units at 80% of AMI – kick in for buildings 10 units or 10,000 sqft." bankerandtradesman.com/cambridge-up...

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen. Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !” globalnews.ca/news/9793403...

Hi Bluesky! Glad to be here.

What a brain dead piece. Yeah, liberty thrives in an environment where the government lets you do exactly one thing with your property? Where an inminban of your most psychotic neighbors monitors you 24/7, and charges you a fee for the privilege? Get a grip.

Proud to be part of this ongoing effort to provide a comprehensive assessment of nature in the U.S.

I'm guessing it's a real problem because most folks think the President should probably be a king. "Trump won, he should get to do what he wants." Here's to hoping a silent majority is paying attention and doesn't like it. www.rawstory.com/jd-vance-ign...

a good part of me thinks that in addition to everything else, the reason they are scrubbing these stories is they do not want disadvantaged kids to believe they can aspire to anything other than their designated “black” or “hispanic” or “woman” job

He thinks a trade deficit and a financial deficit are the same thing. Right? Is that the impression you're getting?

Is any agency, intuition, or lone genius going to a grocery store and putting up the price of various items? I'm hoping to see how much avocados, eggs, and beer goes up over the next year. If someone is already doing something like this, it would save me a trip.

From the sounds of it, DOT hasn't figured out details on this policy. But I wonder if this is inadvertently going to catalyze housing production (even with tariffs) and/or encourage density. I'm sure once they realize that, they'll rewrite things. www.constructiondive.com/news/dot-gra...

How many people need to die before anyone in the GOP does anything?

He did so back in 2011, along with nine other councillors, over concerns it was too expensive to pump the mineral into the drinking sources of Calgary, Alberta. Since then, the 1.4 million people who live there have been without fluoridated water, and it appears to have come at a cost.

15% of Americans, 39 million, plan to buy a home this year. With an average household size of 2.5, that’s 15.6 million homes needed. Only 5 million will be sold this year. Buyers hope to spend $259,088… The median sales price today is $420,000. www.newsweek.com/housing-mark...
