I assumed this was a Zoom bug, as their software quality has been dropping for the last 5 years. But it's an Apple bug that has existed for months. birchtree.me/blog/this-al...

My Nintendo Switch-loving kids + their friends are now experts on tariffs. I am not joking. They have so many questions. Telling them they can't pre-order something they have been obsessing over + saving all their money for is a teachable moment like no other. Parents, do NOT sleep on this.

Trump's tariffs could increase the cost of an iPhone 16 Pro by almost $300. Who pays for it? Us or Apple? And if we moved iPhone manufacturing to the U.S.? Let’s just say… get ready for a bajillion-dollar iPhone. We broke down the bill of materials. www.wsj.com/tech/persona...

The most Pixar movie-ready thing happening in the @sfchronicle.com newsroom right now: We just rescued an old 1990s Power Mac G3 from the e-waste pile & hooked it up because it’s the only thing in the newsroom that can read CD ROMs containing photos from that era. Cc: @snell.zone

It's really sad how much @wordpress screwed up a once reasonable CMS/publishing platform in the last 5 years. And I wouldn't be surprised if their CEO was still making bank even after the 16% of staff layoffs.

Got a new one, I've never been called "Dave" before. It's not the usual way people screw up my name... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Watching two tentpole series. Reacher on Amazon Prime and 1923 on Paramount+. One they care much more about the immersion, fidelity and quality of the cinematography. And it's not Amazon Prime.

Oh, I'm certain. Millions of rentals get rented just fine without the usurious brokers here.

I'd be concerned if my hearse was a minivan... Or have they been cheating the RMV?

I post false invention attributions to Johannes Gutenberg, the Mainz entrepreneur who innovated on aspects of printing in the 15th century. The false invention attributions question Gutenberg's oversized & often erroneous legacy in the history of print, asking what *did* Gutenberg actually invent?

This is hilarious! relative-time.jthaw.club

blargh, skankbot follows on Bluesky.

But the best thing I said today was... “hi, I need you to break into your cabinet so I can get something” … twice Inanity of locking products away from customers.

Hey, those astronauts on the 8 day tour are finally back, not quite on land, but on the water... They're still doing better than that 3 hour tour!

Another great #TacoFriday! Wait…

The #United website and app have sucked since Continental acquired them. And yet, they’ve managed to make their mobile app suck #MORE 🤦🏻‍♂️

5Rs does come in useful. Reminding folks to make editable versions of files available. (I'm fine if it's with proprietary software, as long as it's "common".)

It’s 53F, sunny and shorts weather!

Asking a volunteer to review proposals is one thing. Sending them the packet that's 125 pages long is a bit much. Not taking the time to delete the *90* pages of empty Excel tables is poor form. I'm the reviewer. 35 pages to review is fine.

LOL Subaru. Marketing winter accessories to me now?!?!?! I think your marketing department missed the mark. You should have done this in early January nationwide!
