It also happened in Boy Scout camps (and thousands of other places). I remember someone in charge hollering at us to “Tie back your tent flaps!” so that insecticide could inundate the interiors.

Been hoping for this since reading Peter Matthison’s compelling 1991 book on Peltier decades ago!

Also: devote 15 min/day or more to stretching if you don’t already. Yoga or Pilates are great; at least do a subset of the stretches/core strength moves you learned in PT or? Your back + joints will serve you better, longer, and your mind will be freed up to focus on things other than pain.

Didn’t Peterson move to Florida?

Sure. Beyond those “scenes,” same goes for interest in natural foods, clean water, clean air, wilderness etc. I can remember a time when being pro environment wasn’t almost totally a “left” position.

That’s my understanding. Funny/not funny how the incoming admin touts the MA plans! I hope you are well compensated for your work and have good health insurance. Too often, health care workers get screwed with high cost and/or lousy coverage from what I’ve seen.

Thanks (probably is). I don’t use them but have bad memories fighting for more time in rehab after Dad had a partial hip replacement at 91. We won. Without a patient advocate, it’s pretty hard for old folks to fight denials.

A non-starter if ever there was one! Put it and the others on this list to a public vote and it’d be 80-20 against. Are these guys even on the same planet we are?

Yes: staying out of jail and enriching himself; that was the whole pt. I’d like to see people focus less on Trump (he’ll golf and grift, ho hum), more on the wealthy cabal that elevated him and for whom he serves as a useful idiot.

These are good points, almost reassuring ones. The fewer pure sycophants in the next administration, the better. We’ll see if Thune has spine.

Even the Arkansas GOP repudiated Forbes prior to the runoff, which was won decisively by a Black man! Democrats won the 1990 races for Gov (a guy named Clinton) and LG handily. Sure, Forbes found some support in AR but it was mostly a Blue state then, and he was clearly a fringe candidate.

Always good to see positive news about EVs. Also, the mention of Holden Arboretum” sparked (recharged?) memories from ~1974 when I majored in botany at Kent State and did many field trips in northern Ohio. No Kias were spotted then; Datsuns and Toyotas were maligned.

He, personally, doesn’t have to do anything. He has his get-out-of-jail card, the main reason he ran again. He’ll probably play a lot of golf. Forget about him; his “work” is done. Focus on those who back and are poised to implement Project 2025.

Yeah, the Stein votes are throwaways. No reason to “add” them to Trump’s count and I wish I hadn’t. Blame it on time change.

Well, AZ would also be +3 for Harris under this scenario
comment in response to

Right. If Hamby’s summary shows projected Trump % as the middle numbers, as you have to assume it does, and even if you add Stein’s numbers to Trump’s, the only place it looks close is PA (Harris +3) for this age group.

Have to think people who are *that* engaged are a small fraction of stalwart Democratic voters. Most of us aren’t that active in the party, frankly/sadly? Sure, white boomers are a big part of the “stalwart voter base” together with black women and perhaps young women in general?
