If I learn from my mistakes, then I'm now a genius. Opinions are only valid when powered by critical thinking. Open minds, canoes and bicycles make me happy.

As an outsider who is truly helpless to influence internal US politics, I beg you and anyone else who is an American, to do what you can to force a change as soon as possible.

I'm understanding world history way better now. How horrible things were allowed to happened when we should have known better.

I wasn't alone in being impressed by Gould. She communicated very well and put forward a principled approach. Baylis was also a nice surprise. Together, all 4 put out some positive vibes.

I think that you should do that now!

I was happy to see that the originally planned question was dropped for the new refraimed one. Kudos for CBC in recognizing its error.

Wait until the blowhard 'Kevin' from that silly US TV show comes on. (I refuse to say his last name because he would like it too much).

They're wandering away a little from the opening question and a little more than I would like into the question of 'Is it a good idea?' Other than that occasional drift, I agree with you Bernice.

Ian and company, I have to add my voice to the comments here seriously questioning the framing of this issue. It comes across as not only completely tone deaf but also normalizing a preposterous and unacceptable idea. Surely there is a rethink happening before this airs?

Sometimes, we just don't want to believe what we see right in front of us. At least, I know that I don't anyway.

I believe that you are right.

That's a little more nuanced than the salesmen of waterboards and electrocution supplies would like.

I dunno. There are headwinds and there are absolute times when your point is true. However, in my view and experience, there are other times when a choice can be made. I prefer not to be waterboarded for saying so, if that's ok with you?

I want to like this comment but fear that people might take the guillotine reference as a literal call for violence. Figuratively, I'm on board though.

Yes, please do! There's no positive end game. This madness has to stop.

No shoes!! Hardcore rebels right there.

What minor things might you change?

That may be true, but there's also a lot of vile hatred on the right. Probably even some of that puritanism.

Let us hope you are right. It feels to me that we're hovering over a bottomless pit.

It truly feels that way!

Our new dishwasher partially relies on an app that also requires a password... for our DISHWASHER! I'm losing my battle for a simpler life.

I'm still a traditional bike only guy. I love its lightweight and its feeling of being an extension of me. But a recent injury and aging in general has me very closely considering an e-bike. My one concern is whether the old one will still love me if I ride another 😇.

As a Canadian, I'm truly at a loss to understand what the hell so many Americans were thinking. It's not like they didn't have a chance to examine him. Something else is going on. It's up to you guys to fix it, and fast.

I don't know of the book but I do of the other.

The 'conservation' argument is deliberately used as red herring by those who want to keep the city owned trails restricted to themselves. That's easily demonstrated. Unbridled development is the cause of a multitude of problems, including environmental.

Lowest price = Lowest quality rings rather true. What I find especially bothersome is that this is a courtroom. A place where even the worst offenders are allowed to be heard (which is legit as well, of course). But it's not open to the full public?
