For those unfamiliar, the Associated Press is a non-profit cooperative formed by US news organizations that covers news for its 1,300 member papers, radio stations and TV stations. It is the foundation of the American press. It has always gotten the first seat and first question at official events.

This comment on r/fednews really stood out to me. Trump and Musk want people to think they're firing do-nothing "bureaucrats," but they're really getting rid of people dedicated to serving this country and keeping it operational. I hope these stories get told.

These are the people who monitor and publish Lake Superior's conditions every day. Minnesotans along the North Shore rely on NOAA to know whether or not it’s safe to go out on the water. These agencies and their staff do real work that keeps us safe, it just goes unnoticed - until they’re gone.
