I like dogs, writing, cooking, and pretending that I actually garden.
My family owns Peppy Paws Play Yard, a private play space for dogs in Mesa, Arizona.

I think you're onto something with the buying-before-price-increase idea. That's exactly what I'm thinking of doing with a computer. I'm sure some car buyers feel the same.

I don't understand. It looks exactly as awful as it always has.

Expatriates and emigrants/immigrants are not the same. "Expats" are people living in another country, yet retaining their original citizenship. An immigrant intends to move permanently & become a citizen of a new country.

Or... They thought they would like to follow you, and then reconsidered. Or they would like to read your original posts, but not your reposts, and Bluesky has no way to filter out reposts on a profile level. Not everyone is trying to game the system.

FWIW, a non-Big Box buyer I spoke with yesterday said they'd already prepared for a 10% China tariff. A bigger problem for them isn't the extra 10% on China, but the Canada tariff, which they (naively, I think,) thought wouldn't actually happen. They're scrambling to find different sources.

4.) You don't have to do everything about everything, but you CAN, if possible, post about what can be done, what's being planned, and by whom, and what kind of help they need to counter the actions and agenda of the new administration, whether they are national, state, or local. (End. Or is it?)

3.) Now I'm at a different stage in my life, in which my health, and the needs of my family, are incompatible with the kind of civic work I used to do -- work that was mostly on behalf of others. Now _I_ need others to make the effort, do the work, and speak up for ME... and where are they? (Cont.)

2.) I find this especially disturbing. I've spent many years doing a variety of things to support the candidates, elected officials, organizations, and policies that I believed in, and nearly always achieved success. (Continued)
