DEMOCRATIC ELECTEDS: You need to be holding hearings like Raskin/Schiff did but on the bloodbaths at Social Security and IRS. DOGE can now pocket everyone's personal information. IRS is being set up to make billionaire taxes optional; no more phone support # at SSA. HOLD THE HEARINGS.

The Trump campaign saw it as a problem that voters thought he wanted "retribution," so he just dissembled and said (in a Fox interview where he got Qs in advance) that he would too busy to seek it. The cynical lesson for Dems: Lie. Say you won't do revenge, then make BigLaw do your laundry.

Ayep!

If I were Judge Xinis, I would order the government to produce, in her courtroom, officials who were in a position to answer her questions and to do so under oath. Letting DOJ continue to prevaricate and deflect responsibility in written submissions seems ... insufficient at this point.

That MF'er in charge of HHS is really hitting his stride, as the New York Times reported — hm?

Fools and cowards, every one. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social he is on his way to 32

It is a #PRS kind of night

They’re using Jews as human shields for their fascist agenda.

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

“Willkie’s longest-serving lawyer, Joseph T. Baio, resigned … “In an email to the firm’s executive committee, Mr. Baio wrote that he had left so he could ‘join the fight against governmental tyranny, unconstitutional decrees and social injustice, particularly at this critical time.’”

Today’s musical lineup #tragicallyhip #REM #superchunk

If a future Democratic trifecta wanted to float a trial balloon on expanding the Supreme Court, they should expand the lower courts to the point that their appointments in red states are the majority. And scrap the convention of giving the senators of a state a say in who gets nominated.

Illegal attempts to access IRS data was an article of impeachment against Nixon.

Cantwell: "You're telling us in your testimony you want a tariff on semiconductors. I'm saying that the last administration and this organization here passed the CHIPS and Science Act so we could reshore semiconductors. You're not going to win the innovation economy by tariffing semiconductors."

I love paying TurboTax a few hundred bucks every year to figure out how much money I owe the government, which the government already knows, but won't tell me because TurboTax pays legislators to keep the government from telling me. 😻

She’s right. No more enabling.

It's not discussed in all the stories. But a key feature of the revocation of student visas is that there's no notification. This has forced universities to do regular online reviews of current visas to see which have disappeared since the previous query. The lack of notification is by design.

Fired DOJ Attorney Testifies In Wake Of Trump Intimidation: I Won’t Be ‘Bullied’ To Hide ‘Corruption’  talkingpointsmemo.com/news/fired-d...

Reminder: We are not at war with Venezuela. The people deported are not enemies. The law in question should not apply. Among the most dangerous aspects of the SCOTUS ruling is the idea that the president and his people have the right to arbitrarily determine who our enemies are.

As context: -Roberts, Kavanaugh, Barrett were all on 2000 Florida Recount team for GWBush -Kav, Gorsuch, Barrett all appointed by Trump -Last Dem prez to appoint a chief justice was Harry Truman 1946 -Most of today's Americans have never lived w/ Dem-appointed Scotus majority. (Changed 1969)

While Rubio presides over the rendition of innocent men to indefinite slavery in foreign prisons, one of his top security men is arrested in Brussels for allegedly getting physical with cops after attacking hotel staff who wouldn't open a bar after closing time. The best people.

This is exactly how he ran his business though. He'd sign a contract for granite counter-tops, chandeliers, etc., take delivery of the merchandise, and then refuse to pay. His strategy for getting rich is just not paying for things. Anyone who does is a sucker and a loser

As I’ve said, the Roberts court may well be remembered as the most corrupt, disastrous iteration of that particular institution.

All I keep thinking about is that if/when Dems regain power, every action to restore normality or basic functioning of governmental institutions will be covered by the national press like it’s a controversial, partisan power play on par with a coup.

Bill Ackman freaking out about tariffs and saying "this isn't what we voted for" is as clear a crystallization of conservative self-delusion as you could ever ask for. Yes it is you idiot, you voted specifically for this! He talked about this NON STOP

Congress could end the tariffs tomorrow but most members of Congress value their relationship with Trump more than the American economy

1/ I'm sure someone has already pointed this out, but one additional thing about the tariffs being done unilaterally by the president: They can be (and almost certainly will be) reversed by the next Democratic president.

Democratic leadership: you have the people’s mandate. Today showed that. We got your back. FIGHT.
